Who Killed Comedy: Part 2 (Script Access)
Added 2025-03-10 18:03:48 +0000 UTCHey everyone! It's taken me a bit of a while to get the second part of my 'Who Killed Comedy' script done - in fact, it was never even supposed to be a two-parter but hey ho). I'm going to hopefully be filming it tomorrow but I wanted to share the script with you now so you can give it a read! Would love to know what you think <3

I’ve only skimmed it, as I love to watch your videos multiple times and soak in the finished content, but from what I did see this is again, really well researched and feels like a great second edition to what was an already really compelling first video. I’m looking forward to it! Good luck with your filming!!

When watching a YouTube Short or TikTok and they substitute in a recognisable sound effect like the Roblox Oof or Minecraft hit sound effect to denote some comedic moment, is that the newest iteration on the laugh track?

2025-03-10 20:22:33 +0000 UTCLove the script, it's interesting to see behind the curtain in this way and see how you layout your scripts and plan the visual jokes ahead of time. I love that I can read this and hear your voice while I'm reading it. I don't know if any kind of feedback is what you're looking for, but one thing that did jump out at me is the joke at the start about the length of time between the two posts. It definitely sounds like a Tomska self depricating joke, but I feel like in the future when people come back to watch both parts together, it's a joke that will stand out and highlight that fact, when most people in the future probably wont give it much of a second thought. Also I feel like this is a decent place to put an annecdote: I was once in an audience for 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. At the top of the recording, we were literally told to laugh as much as possible when a joke was made, and when the applause sign was on. I laughed at jokes I hated just to fit in with the crowd. After 4 hours of recording I was so tired of laughing my face hurt, and my cynicism towards being DIRECTED to laugh felt so unnatural that I couldn't really find the show all that funny. It told me that I wasn't here to be made laugh by the comedians, but for the comedians to do a job and for us the audience to be a support act. It sucked honestly.
