So what's been going on with the delays?

Hello everybody, I'm very sorry about that the tardiness and getting things out in their month and I would like to explain what's going on for full transparency. I will give a tl;dr at the end as well.

2 months ago, as you may remember, there were two polls about background drawing. This was not my original intent, but I realized that I had really precluded a large number of selections by allowing people to choose ones that were inherently inflation themed such as the Macy's day parade and Wonka contents. As such I opted to do another set in the hopes that I would be able to reduce the quality on some of them. I should know better because I'm not interested in settling for low quality, and I ended up putting a lot into those in that month. It was even more foolish that in December I had not only Midwest furfest and the holidays, but also my girlfriend in town and heaping tons of work on my shoulders right then was just hubris and stupidity. December was a beast of my own making and I paid for it by working into January on them.

January on the other hand was less difficult, but still problematic. As some of you know I help run an important part of MAGFest and that meant that the entire week of the convention I had to be there organizing and running my portions of the events. I tried to draw during that and did manage to finish one of my pieces then and felt good about it, I should have easily been able to squeeze out the last two when I returned because doing them during the event was just impossible with how many responsibilities I had.

Unfortunately that brings me to what happened this last week. Upon returning from the event, I went to stay with a friend of mine as protection and support because on the final days of the event assaulted her. We went our separate ways initially until he jumped and harassed her upon her return to her home. I stayed with her for a few days to ensure that she was safe, to ensure that the house was secured, and to provide mental and emotional support while she was filing divorce paperwork and pursuing legal actions surrounding her child. I was not incapable of drawing this time and that's why I was able to squeak in this picture in the last seconds of the month, but I don't apologize for prioritizing her.

The good news in all of this is that I am home, she seems safe, and I am ready to dive into this month's work. I am first going to finish a little bit more outstanding work from the previous month, some bonuses for my $1 patrons that are rewards from my $25 patrons! I'm also pleased to say that I will have an update on the suika game 7, I just want to finish one more asset first. These next couple of months will have a lot of conventions in them but I have the room to get all of my work done in a reasonable time frame, and as I stated because of the tie for second place, this month's winning pictures are actually going to be a paired sequence of all three girls! Tl;Dr: December was a shit show because I over promised on content during one of my most busy months, my fault entirely. January was a shit show from catching up on that and because of a literal week-long convention and then turned into protection for a friend of mine abused by her husband. I am back in full force and do not predict difficulties going forward this month!
