Flimpo Friday Update (4-18-2025)

TAAFI was a great time! We met stars like Aaron Blaise and Eric Bauza, awesome peers like Kiana Mai Khansmith, Studio Homework, and Zeddyzi, as well as many filmmakers and the amazing staff! I represented Studio Flimpo at the Independent Creators Panel, where we also showed an early look at the Mandelbrot Hall pilot episode- a clip from the animatic. Once the animatic is more refined, we might even start to share clips here...
We also ran into a lot of people who recognized us and said hi- which never stops feeling unreal (in the best way). Despite the Canadian chill, we all enjoyed ourselves greatly and left feeling inspired. Make sure to check out this week's video for a recap of the event.
We've slowly been getting back into the swing of things after returning from the festival. For Mandelbrot Hall, the work on backgrounds, props, and the animatic continues. After watching through our rough animatic, we pinpointed the (many) areas that we need to revise and polish. In some areas, we'll need to do some retakes for dialogue, while in others we have to fiddle with the timing to get the pacing of the episode just right. At the same time, we're refining the extremely rough thumbnail sketches into rough (but less rough) storyboards. Milo continues to toil away at The Big One - a super extra wide background, and Reid has been doing the noble task of designing props.
