AI Writing - crazy
Added 2022-11-27 17:06:11 +0000 UTCThis is NOT my writing, exactly. It is an AI-based writing program GUIDED by me. But... insane, right? Figured I'd share because it's kinda fun. I wouldn't publish anything written by A.I. to Amazon, because I don't trust it yet, but here's a little thing an AI program did just now. Thoughts?

Charm ran through the crystals that made up this multi-colored forest of stone and twisted metal. She had been searching for days on this planet, one of many in the most recent galaxy that she and her team of superheroes were exploring. Their mission -- to find allies or their enemy hideouts and see them converted or exterminated.
As she burst through the trees, she caught sight of a small figure huddled in the corner of a clearing. In the dim light of the alien sun, she could barely make out the shadowy form of a child.
Charm approached the child slowly, hesitant to startle him. As she drew closer, she could see that he was trembling, his hands clutching his knees to his chest.
"Hello there," Charm said, her voice gentle. "My name is Charm. Are you okay?"
The child looked up at her, his eyes filled with fear and confusion. He opened his mouth to speak, but no sound came out.
"It's okay," Charm said. "You don't need to say anything. I just want to help."
She reached out to touch the child, but before she could reach him, she saw a flash of movement out of the corner of her eye. Instantly, she whirled around, her hand flying to the hilt of her sword.
But there was nothing there. The clearing was empty. And the child was gone.
Charm looked down at her hand and saw that she had drawn the sword from its scabbard without even realizing it. She sheathed the weapon with a sigh and looked around.
"Come out," she called. "I know you're here."
There was no response, but she felt sure that she was not alone.
"What are you doing out here all alone?" Charm asked. "Is something wrong?"
She was answered only by silence.
"Is someone after you?" she asked. "Do you need help to get home?"
Again, nothing.
"I'm going to count to three," Charm said. "And if you don't come out, I'm going to look for you."
Her claws bared and she readied her superpowers.
One…"
Nothing happened.
"…two…"
Still nothing.
"Three!"
At last, her patience was rewarded. The child emerged from behind a nearby rock. He wore ragged clothing that was patched several times over. His hair hung in lank locks around his face. There were cuts and bruises on his skin, as though he'd been beaten.
He stared up at her with wide eyes, his mouth working silently.
"Are you okay?" Charm asked. "Do you need help? Where did you come from?"
The boy shook his head. "Sorry," he mumbled.
Charm leaned in closer. "Who are you?" she whispered. "Where did you come from?"
The child hesitated. "M-my name is…I mean, I'm sorry, my name…it's…"
Charm took pity on him. "That's okay," she said gently. "We can go back to your place and talk about it."
They started walking again, but the boy didn't move. "What's your name?" Charm asked.
"It's…I'm sorry, I..." He turned away, embarrassed.
"No, wait," Charm said. "Tell me. What is your name?"
The boy finally spoke. "Tian," he said, looking up at her nervously. "I'm Tian."
Charm smiled at him. "Tian," she repeated. "Nice to meet you. I'm Charm."
His smile grew wider. "It's nice to meet you, Charm."
Charm laughed softly. "You're funny."
Tian nodded. "I'm very funny, aren't I?"
Charm laughed again. "Yes, you are. You're hilarious."
Tian grinned, pleased. "Oh! That's good to hear. I thought maybe I wasn't funny at all."
"No," Charm said. "You're definitely funny."
She glanced at Tian, studying him curiously. She'd never seen someone like him before. There were so few people in this world who were truly unique -- either in their looks or personality.
And she knew she was different from everyone else as well. As a kitsune, she was much older than any other being here, and her power made her the strongest of them all. The rest of them were mere children when it came to powers and experience.
As Charm pondered the differences between herself and those around her, she saw something move in the corner of her eye. When she turned to look, it was gone.
But she knew what she had seen. It hadn't been an animal – it had been one of her team.
Charm smiled. "Hey," she called out. "Are you there?"
There was no answer, but that was okay. She turned back to the path, ready to continue looking for the enemy base. But then she heard a sound behind her. She whirled around and gasped in alarm. A dark figure was approaching rapidly, his black cape swirling in the wind.
A man? No, the form looked like a man, but it wasn't human.
His face was inhuman and demonic. He had horns sprouting from the sides of his head and his eyes were blacker than the void of space itself.
"Who are you?" Charm demanded. "What are you doing here?"
The creature did not reply. Instead, he advanced on her with long, powerful strides.
Charm took a step back, alarmed by this sudden assault. Her sword raised to parry his attack, she felt another presence enter her mind. She looked at the monster coming toward her and saw a reflection of herself staring back. She gasped in surprise and confusion.
The creature was the one with the horns and eyes of night, but it was she who now bore the face of darkness and shadow. The transformation was only momentary, though, and as quickly as it began, it was over. Charm stood once again before the dark creature, but her mind was calm and composed, ready for whatever the monster might do.
He raised his claws and sheathed them. "So be it," he said. "I will kill you now."
Charm nodded. "Yes, I suppose you would have to," she agreed. "But first…"
She reached out to touch him gently on the shoulder, trying to comfort him. His features shifted and became more human. "No," he said. "Not yet."
He raised his hand and beckoned her close. When she hesitated, he took her arm and drew her forward. As he did so, he whispered in her ear, "There's something we need to discuss first."
She looked up at him questioningly, but he shook his head. "Later. Now, listen carefully," he said. "I can get you to those you seek, but for a price..." His eyes shifted to the boy, who whimpered. "Give him to me."
"Not my style," Charm replied, and she let out a breath of her charm powers to give herself strength. Her nine tails flailed out, a glow coming over her. The fight began.
She leapt at him with fangs bared, and he countered her by throwing an attack of his own. A flash of light erupted from his clawed hands and struck her like a blow. Charm was thrown back, crashing into the tree behind her. Her ears flattened in pain, her tail lashing out to lash at his ankles. She heard the bones break and felt the blood flow.
The creature turned and advanced upon her, and then, in one quick movement, she leaped away, dodging his next swing of his fists. She whirled around in mid-air to land atop the closest tree. It creaked under her weight but held firm. As she landed, she struck with extended claws of light that tore into the monster's shoulder. He stumbled back with a roar.
Charm laughed at him in triumph as he staggered back, blood cascading down his arm! But then something strange happened; instead of attacking again with her claws or superpowers , Charm simply stood on top of that tree for several seconds without moving or speaking or doing anything else at all!
"Do something!" the boy screamed, but she still did not move.
The creature regarded her with confusion for a moment before he made his own move again -- this time with fire! An enormous fireball erupted from his hands that threw Charm into another tree nearby; it cracked under the impact! She could feel hot pain running through her tail as it dripped blood down onto its roots! He advanced on her again but this time he stopped before he reached her -- there was something blocking his path! Out of curiosity, he leaned forward until his face was almost level with hers...and then he looked down and gasped in shock! The thing blocking his way was not his own foot but rather another Kitsune!
Not just any other, but... another version of Charm?! Both had their eyes closed, but suddenly their eyes popped open. Two Charms moved as one. Their claws splashed blood on each other as they slashed viciously at him.Their claws cut deeply into his flesh and he howled in agony as they continued to slash and stab at him. Blood sprayed everywhere and he fell backward and rolled across the ground.
"Damn... you." He said with his last breath.
He fell and, strangely enough, the boy fell at the same time.
"You fought well," the boy said, struggling to stand. "Not many are able to defeat my pet... or pass my test."
