All in all, things were going about as well as can be.
Reaching into a pocket for a scroll as my chakra pinged out all around us-
"There's fifteen, Shimura."
-I quickly remembered Tobirama was a sensor himself. With a slight grin, I pulled my chakra back and threw the scroll I'd taken out towards Hiruzen. The boy to his credit quickly controlled his shakiness, opened the scroll and watched as three sets of armored cloaks popped out.
Tobirama having tilted his gaze back to take it in made to echo out an order only to be pleasantly surprised to watch Hiruzen immediately hand one over to the panicking girl and pale noble.
"...This- This is hardly the time for dressin-"
"Shitstain-san, until the breathers turn into corpsers, I am gonna need you to shut the fuck up and do as your told." I cut him off and immediately put both hands together. Tobirama thankfully noted the hand signs as a glint appeared in his eyes and elected to copy me.
In unison, the two earth-style jutsus rapidly converged and created a platform that pushed the five of us high into the sky, the foundations seeping around the tavern below and digging deep into the ground.
Hiruzen thankfully grabbed the terrified noble by the cloak he'd hastily put on, and Koharu by her hand, and latched his feet onto the rising structure with chakra.
"Thoughts?" A very much approving Tobirama queried with a slight smile on his face.
Quickly covering the kunai I held with my other hand with chakra, I pinpointed the residue left over from the attack and pinpointed its former owner. My gaze set on the fuck and three counts of warcrime-inducing tendrils later, that corpse told me where the rest of them were.
"You snipe, I'll pinpoint." I deadpanned. "And in about two minutes, I'll blow a path through the woods to their main camp."
"You know where their main camp is?" Tobirama questioned back surprised.
"Ninshu's a hell of a drug," I snarked just as the corpse I'd made was found by his teammates.
I could practically feel the questioning gaze on me at those words.
"Hiru, keep Shitstain and Koharu alive," I remarked, earning a quick nod from the somewhat wary boy.
Tobirama looked somewhat concerned at that idea though to his credit he steeled his nerves and just focused down on the land below us, his hands rapidly going through a few hand signs as a water dragon bomb materialised before him and set off onto the idiots that failed to understand the stealth part of being a ninja.
Covering Hiruzen with a small veil of chakra, I idly noted the fact the boy was already covering himself in a basic cloak of Haki.
Ignoring the fact the fucker had been sandbagging his own training even if a slight smile filled my face at it, I made sure no one tried to put him into a Genjutsu.
With that settled, I promptly started echoing out targets for my sensei to overkill from our perch, all the while chakra slowly and steadily built up in my hands.
One by one their ranged specialist were swatted down by water bullets, lightning bursts and in one very unfortunate ninja's case who'd elected to hide himself underground was crushed by the earth itself.
Let it not be said that Tobirama wasn't efficient when it came to burials.
Just as my chakra formation reached it's peak, a single ninja who'd thought he'd escaped mine and Tobirama's sight, rapidly climbed the structure, a blade in his hand and a furious look in his eyes.
Credit where credit was due, Tobirama didn't so much as bat an eyelash, even if I noted the way his chakra coiled around him like a storm- Instead he evidently decided to trust in my having ignored said attacker.
The noble, to my surprise, noted the sudden attacker at nearly the last second, just as Koharu did- And for all the crap I gave that girl, I knew she was somewhat competent as far as Genins went, which told me the noble had likely had some form of chakra training- Though that wasn't nearly as important as the confirmation that Hiruzen absolutely was ready for the field as the boy without missing a beat, drop kicked the attacker the moment he got within his range, an echoing burst of chakra escaping his feet as the ninja was killed on contact with the kick before his body was rocketed off.
I took a brief moment to take in the boy's face as he quickly came to the resounding realisation that the shit I was teaching him was absolutely too dangerous for this world.
Admittedly he looked a tad shocked at the fact, before immediately doing the same to the second attacker who popped up just after the first without a hint of hesitation.
Tobirama seemed to approve of that too-
"...What did you teach him exactly?" My teacher questioned, a very surprised look on his face.
I ignored the question and instead focused back on my building attack. Pulling my hands together and aiming it down the line of my sight towards the forest line where the attackers had decided to make their camp.
"Is it over?" The less terrified noble queried.
I echoed out my favourite brand of war crime.
"Conquerors style..." I started and waited for the moment one of the leftover ninja who'd elected to retreat following the long-distance serial killer's spree- That being my teacher- found himself in my technique's range. "Six King Gun," and everything caught in and around the sudden air burst vanished as the air whistle that suddenly sounded off was followed by a sonic boom and a veritable gust of wind that pushed back on the rest of us. Thankfully we weren't thrown off the now-shaking earth structure thanks to Tobirama's sudden modification to the chakra beneath our feet.
"Now it is." I deadpanned as I took in the ravaged pathway I'd etched onto the map.
"...Well, at least you made a shortcut for us." Tobirama elected to add on with a tilt of his head.
"Shortcut?" The noble uttered, a strange tone to his voice. "Are you seriously suggesting we take-"
"Yes." Tobirama deadpanned as he clasped both of his hands together while I let out a sigh, admittedly winded. "I very much doubt that was the only force after your head."
"Which is exactl-" The noble wobbled on his feet slightly as the earth structure slowly started taking us down, just as an adrenaline-pumped Hiruzen sat down beside me, a shaky grin on his face.
"There are good odds they covered the other paths en route."
"But you want to take the one that definitely had enemies in it!?" The noble's whine caused me to wince.
"Yes," Tobirama answered utterly unbothered. "Those enemies are either dead or crippled, the other paths don't have that going for them." A beat passed. "Though in truth, I am far more concerned about why some seem to want you dead badly enough to hire this many ninja."
Hiruzen chose that moment to poke me with a finger. Turning towards him, I blinked at the somewhat serious boy. His earlier adrenalina high evidently had faded. "The two I... uh, kicked-"
Killed but go on.
The brat was smart enough to realise it given he was trying to avoid the topic. And as bad as I felt for putting him through it- I certainly could've delayed my technique and just dealt with those two myself- it was better he got it out of the way now than in a situation without me or Tobirama there.
"...I think they were wearing different headbands."
I blinked at that at the same time Tobirama narrowed his eyes as he turned towards the very wary noble. I promptly pat Hiru on the shoulder for having noticed that in the heat of the moment, before I directed him towards our frozen teammate, the boy didn't bat an eye as he nodded and immediately went to calm the girl down.
"Tobirama-sensei," I muttered as I slowly got up off my ass.
"I know." Said teacher remarked as he crossed his arms towards the shifty noble. "What did you do exac-"
"That's not important." The man immediately responded, a panicking tone to his voice. "You have... you have your-"
"Shitstain-san, you can either tell us what you're hiding, or I can rip it out of your head." I cut in with a smile on my face.
"...You... You can't-" His gaze snapped towards Tobirama. "Tell your student he's forbidden-"
"As I am sure you've already noticed, Shimura's leash is barely held by my brother, so I can't imagine what you think I could really do." Tobirama lied through his teeth, even if it was technically true.
Granted, I doubted I'd live with giving Tsunade so much fucking ammo for when she grew up- God I can imagine the neverending complaints about the grey hairs I was going to put on her favourite, and only, great uncle's head.
The noble's gaze snapped between me and Tobirama at the latter's words. "...I..." The man grit his teeth as his gaze momentarily locked onto the other two Genin in my team before they shifted back onto my teacher. "...I may have taken credit... for..."
My kills? I wasn't sure how I felt about him taking credit for the bodies I'd practically handed him, or how anyone had even believe-
"The Earth Daimyo's loss..."
...Oh fuck me sideways.
Tobirama blinked at that and stared at the moron and looked at him like he was questioning which planet he'd come from.
"Shitstain-san." Funnily enough that one hadn't come from me. "Are you insane?" Tobirama questioned.
I just stared at the crazy bastard. "Sheesh, even I wasn't crazy enough to claim that." I deadpanned, breaking the sudden tension that filled the damaged roof. "And I fucking-"
Hiruzen, thankfully, kept me from making a monumental mistake as he covered my mouth with a hand.
Tobirama didn't so much as twitch though my ninshu picked up the sudden appreciation towards Hiruzen that swept through him.
"...Look, I thought-" Shitstain made to say something before Tobirama raised a single hand up.
"Clearly, you can't be trusted to do that." The man deadpanned. "Leave the thinking for the sensible, if you don't mind." He let out with a sigh before he shook his head. "Change of plans, we're returning to the village."
"But-"
"Shitstain-san you realise taking credit for that colossal stupidity basically makes you everyone's enemy right?" I said with a straight face. "Like at this point we might just have to fake your death or somethin'"
Which is exactly what Konoha needed really- another dead noble on our hands.
