Oren's Forge PG 324

We’re diving right back in!

I’m going to hold off on the title reveal for Volume Three for now, so please enjoy the mild suspense until then.

As far as the posting schedule, I plan to stick to a new page on Mondays, and I’ll be taking a week off during months that happen to have five Mondays (lookin’ at you, March).

December and January will be a tad slower though, with three pages in December and three in January. I’m going to be really busy between holiday travel and shipping out KickStarter stuff, and I don’t want to risk burnout right at the beginning. I’ll post some WIPs to fill the void, though.

Anyhow, new page will be out next Monday!

I think Swift is that tall, and Oren definitely isn't.

Ok, so I think I have this figured out. If you go all the way back to page 74 on the last pane, you can see that the lake is actually quite large. At a normal walking pace, it would probably take about 2-3 minutes to make the trek from the trail head at the edge of the lake where the characters are standing now. This means that Swift would be about 400ft away in the top frame. We know that Rask is roughly the same height as Oren (not including ears), and judging by the size difference between Swift, Rask and Oren on page 281 and 276, they would probably come up to about the bottom or middle of Swifts ribcage if they were all standing straight up. If we assume that Swift is roughly analagous to humans in height while standing (at around 5'6") then that would mean Rask an Oren are about 3'8". Swift would likly be just a hare shorter than Oren while on all fours (pun intended), at around 3'6" In the top panel Oren's apparent height is about 170% of the full frame height (4:3), and Swift takes up about 8.86% of the same frame height (yes, I counted pixels and used a full body reference of Oren). Thanks to the power of trigonometry, the virtual camera for this shot is approximately 22'6" behind Oren, and has an equivalent full frame focal length of 364mm. I bet you thought I was going in a different direction with the first two paragraphs, didn't you?
