“This isn’t the first time we had this discussion is it?” To Scree after telling Swift to take someone else’s word on whether to join would be better than dying or not. Upon another reread, I’m thinking perhaps he wasn’t just talking about how Scree was his pack mate, but that Scree had been in the exact same position as Swift is in right now. He’d had this discussion before with Scree, but Scree was in Swift’s part of the conversation as opposed to being part of Singer’s pack. But Scree’s position is not the EXACT same, as she did not have pups whose lives were at stake. Nor did her pack, as otherwise she WOULD know they would kill the pups.

Chipster

I think they send out scree as a spy/saboteur. But I wonder what she does.. unless she did something to cause red to get hurt and potentially hurt or drive away other pack members. To weaken swifts pack for absorption, or destruction. But the one bad dude makes it sound like swifts pack needed scree to survive,

Lord ryven

I don’t know why scree is acting appalled. She is an infiltrator. She ows swift and her pack nothing. But also, I wonder what scree did to assist in the infiltration of this pack. From the sounds of it, the swifts pack would have just died or been weakened over time due to their own lack of ability.

What he's implying here is really interesting. I've reread this page several times, and I at first I was under the impression that Scree had been kicked out of her original pack (Singers pack) and was down and out until Swift took her in. But after rereading it some more, I'm starting to get the idea that that might not be the case. Instead, Singers pack sends out lone wolves to join other struggling packs with the goal of eventually bringing them into the main pack. I mean I'm just speculating here. But if that's the case, it would on some level mirror Oren's hollow. Normally a wolf pack is just an extended family. But in this case, if it is the case, then it would be similar to a large corporation sending resources to local small businesses with the goal of it eventually acquiring them. Very interesting. Because then his pack would be much larger and be able to have much higher hunting success. Like if you look at this right now, it seems like his pack is far away hunting and singer and his two split off guys are not a hunting party. They are recruiters equipped with sign-on-bonus buffalo legs.

Kairo

It's getting smokier by the second out there, I can only imagine how bad the air is getting in the forest... I hope the pups don't succumb to inhalation. At the very least though, it might make tracking them by scent impossible if they survive

Givemeyourmilk

Singer is a bastard, but they have a great design.

Grey

"Furs gonna fly" Good, I can't stand the suspense much longer! 😆

Dinah

I was wondering how and when exactly Scree joined the pack since she was the only one unrelated to the rest of the wolves in Swift's group but I didn't expect she comes, in fact, from the other pack! Now Singer's words "We've a lot to catch up on" when Seral was send off (page 275) to circle Swift have a new meaning.

Pantera

This Rask, is why you provide a trial for anyone you invite over to the hollow, to weed out the disingenuous like Sibyl does with her sparks.

Microgrampup

The more he talks, the more Singer seems to resemble a coyote, especially the next to last panel. :)

Amethysmus

Definitely, et tu? :(

Amethysmus

Et tu, Scree?

Givemeyourmilk

Oh that’s big

Dhaka Yeena

So Scree was from the other pack to start with?

Karly Gay

So basically scree is a spy? Reporting their every move?
