I think the problem that Rask has is that he thinks all predators kill out of necessity like him, this his belief that Hemlock is “worst than a wolf”. Oren needs to tell him the story about Hemlock’s past and then maybe he’ll understand that killing predators is not all just ripping family members away. Hemlock’s wrong to automatically attack every predator she sees, as that could cause them to join together to defend themselves, but killing some predators isn’t painting a bloody path around the world. Sometimes, it’s reducing the blood that ends up on the path.

Hope they won't burn down the whole forest by accident. Poor Rask! He is so conflicted. A lot of pressure was put on him, he is no longer sure to which world he belongs.
