Quick note!
I think this page came out pretty nice.
Also, a couple different folks over the last few weeks have told me about my Patreon being scraped— which, I have known about for a long time. I’ve done what I can. Overall, it just makes me sad it’s one of you guys, but whatever.
I have been a creator on the Internet for a long time. I believe there are three reasons people pirate-
1: Only Option - Whether by financial limitations, age, or location, they have no other option. (LGBTQ content is often restricted, for instance.)
2: Entitlement
3: Try-Before-You-Buy - And should you be seeing this somewhere other than Patreon and you’ve been enjoying this comic— I have a free/pay-what-you-want PDF of Oren’s Forge on my KoFi (https://ko-fi.com/teagangavet). You can also tip anonymously. Kicking a few bucks my way can make a huge difference toward the comics continuation.
I work really hard to get this comic out every week. I am one person, earning below minimum wage, but I am trying to make you something you can’t find anywhere else. I hope that means something.
It will only continue to get harder for small creators and their projects to survive if people don’t support them. Whatever you love— indie books, music, art, games— help the authors if you can. Otherwise, when they are gone, what do you fill that empty space with?

If Red dies, Swift is going to blame Rask and the other prey animals for slowing her down. If he lives, she might remember the “safe place” Rask told her about and Red would be her reason for going there. I feel like we’re on the brink of a big shift in the direction of the story either way, and I’m excited! But gosh I really hope Red lives. I think he’s a really interesting character

Also, I just want to grab Seral and shake him!!!! "I already carry the memory of you as you were, strong and whole." UGH! I know ableism is the norm in this setting because instincts but that still made me go ICK!!!! He's treating Red like he's already dead because he's crippled, never mind the fact that Red clearly wants to keep living!

It seems they were on good terms before that fateful hunt that left Red so seriously wounded. I'm sorry that you have to deal with Patreon Scraping. For me a couple of bucks monthly for a quality comic is not a high price. I've joined to read the special about Oren and the One-eyed wolf and I plan to stay till your work on the final page of Oren's Forge is completed.

2023-08-14 21:47:50 +0000 UTCThe patreon scraping has gotten really bad lately, it's ridiculous (you're not the only creator I'm seeing forced to make these sorts of statements). It's crazy to me that people feel the need to screw small creators, especially when access is generally still available for free if you're just patient and wait a few weeks. Ugh.
