They should have covered the hole with a tarp of leaves threaded together, or something. I don’t think begging for her pups lives would matter, or even occur to her to do. After all, how many babies have she eaten over the years. A world like this were sentient creatures eat each other while they cry and beg, is a world without mercy or compassion.

Let’s see if the author is about to pull a Padak (For those that don’t know that movie, it’s about wild caught fish that live in a tank at a seafood restaurant and they’re trying to escape before a customer picks them for food. The main character is killed towards the end of the movie and the pov shifts to a fish that viewers thought was going to be just a side character).
