At this point, it would just be Gristle, Seral, Ramble, and that one other wolf whose name I forget. I can't see Gristle wanting to sacrifice that many young wolves for his own survival.

I’m not sure that Gristle won’t consider the pups an “acceptable” loss for that reason. If he makes a deal to save Seral, Swift, Ramble, and the other one whose name I can’t remember at the moment, but it’s at the expense of Red and the pups… that’s still majority rules, especially since it seems like he considers Red to be taking up space when he should have died “naturally”, anyway.

I wonder if there is any possibility of seeing a scene with the wolf pups and the hare/rabbit offspring meeting in the Hollow. But what might be another possibility is Swift losing her little ones just like Hemlock did, albeit in different circumstances. :/

2022-10-03 21:46:38 +0000 UTCOh dear. :( I can see only bad and very bad scenarious happening from now, e.g. Swift trying to get away with the pups to the forest, Red and possibly Ramble getting killed in the process. Swift's pack is going to split I think, something has to push her toward the forest to encounter Oren, Rask and the rest. These different perspectives made an interesting story even better. I like also that Seral is not a completely bad guy here, sure, excluding Red was cruel, but these are wolves, it's clear that their custom was to abandon/leave for dead these who are no longer fit to hunt (and they are not elders), but tried to include in the deal both Gristle and the pups.

I don’t think Seral’s seriously considering chasing Swift off, I think he’s just saying that to appear like he’s somewhat agreeing to Singer’s conditions so then a fight doesn’t start.
