2021-04-05 22:37:33 +0000 UTCDamn, I could write a full paragraph to explain how great a leader Oren is every time he starts speaking (Seriously, in three pages he turned "we're all gonna die, let's break the marten's teeth" into "okay, he can stay and we will bring food and medicine.). I love this character, may be my favorite. And it's a very nice change from most stories with similar settings: too often they downplay or even completely erase the leader's role to give more preponderance to the hero. Here, it's group work, as it's supposed to be: Rask has a part to play, just as Oren and all the others.

2021-04-05 21:41:26 +0000 UTCWell, at least they're most likely making their paints with Stone Age ingredients such as hematite (fairly low toxicity) for red(-ish) or various types of clay for yellow. Compared to what people used in the Middle Ages to make colors? Cinnabar (an extremely toxic mercury sulfide) for red or urine for yellow..
