Oren's Forge PG 188

It's definitely not going to be easy by any means yeah.

BritishRabbit

well, he wasn't living in a hidden secret place for most of his life...im not shocked. But good spotting.

O.O

Ooh, interesting development! Also, I just now realized Oren is missing two fingers... Idk how I never noticed it.

weird, sent a reply and it kinda poofed. TLDR: totally fair statement, but all predators have killed dozens and dozens of things just like "them" so technically they are all hard sells. I also laughed about them probably learning to ice fish ... I can see this solving the food issue for the hungry bois. Might get more complex like bird keeping etc who knows but im very curious how they figure this stuff out.

Ceriu

I think getting Yarrow on the team would have been an incredibly hard sell no matter what. Best that could be hoped for would be him leaving in a hurry, we've seen how uncomfortable the prey of the hollow are with a predator that *hasn't* killed two of them.

BritishRabbit

they will no doubt be detrimental to gaining trust of predators in the future... but the Prey DO need to be trained (probably by Rask) in how to atleast stay alive if they are attacked 1 v 1 so they can stay alive just long enough for help to arrive OR for the hunter to lose interest imo...would help corner them so Rask can try to talk to them too...much more willing to listen when the balls NOT in your court. Example... Yarrow was a bastard for killing Sprig when he had already Cached...very uncalled for and I feel he was a bit insane...but Rask WAS slowly getting to him...killing him was a big mistake and thus good riddance to Hemlock...Yarrow was an amazing fighter and would have been an insanely good asset ... the promise of safety is probably enough to make most predators/hunters atleast curious to hear what Rask has to say.

Ceriu

ya exactly... if they can atleast get to the point they can bide for time... make themselves just not worth it OR like I said stay alive long enough for another to show up...that would deter them and probably make them leave/give up... would be a good way for Rask to corner them and try to lead them into his way of thinking too. Oren's again very wise with his "never do it alone" philosophy I love how NOT arrogant he is... he knows the threats are stronger than them / much more deadly but they are overcome-able with the right tactics / deterrents but more importantly hes a bit more open to recruiting more if they're willing to fall into Rasks way of thinking..

Ceriu

I've wondered if they might not have the right mindset for learning to fight. Iirc, lots of predators learn to stalk and fight by play fighting in the beginning. Rask might be the one to introduce them to the concept of regularly practicing fighting in order to improve.

UnwaveringGrey

There's pros and cons to the whole deal. They are indeed more vulnerable, but now Oren will be able to truly integrate Rask and Eggs into the community without the "hard liners" being present to protest.

Reseen Dalls

Acknowledging Rasks strength is good even more so to put into perspective on how vulnerable they still are... but if he could be trained... he could become even better and he could train them on how to atleast survive long enough against a predator for help to arrive. This sort of thing would benefits both sides. Also figured the main place would be underground thats my guess, makes sense.
