WIP - PG 183

Here's a look at my process from the last panel on page 183!

^This is the panel thumbnail - I just blocked out the composition and jumped straight to inking, no sketch for this one.

^Here are the inks and flat colors...

^ There's always a point during the art process where it looks absolutely terrible (ie, that middle image.) For me, it's usually the point when I'm still dropping in compositional shapes and not focusing on color values.

After blocking in colors, I like to work from background, to foreground, to middle ground. Putting in the background (sky) and then foreground helps me establish the tonal range with contrast. (And then the real magic happens when the yellow overlay goes in.)

^ Focusing on tying the light together, adding in highlights (with some more overlays), and coloring all the line art.
