i'll give you that she was terrified to even look at yarrow but still tried to stand her ground ... dont blame her she stood 0 chance without Rask there to save her life lmfao...so no shes not a coward shes just a delusional psychopath thinking she can out hunt the actual hunters...which she cant.

Y'might want to read the comments again, a lot of us are really happy that Hemlock is having a conversation with Rask that's almost civil.

Then again Yarrow didn't look like a good father. Nor a good person. He seemed not so close emotionally to his own son, and Rask himself looked closer to his uncle than his own father. They were probably never that close nor in deeply loving terms (Yarrow seemed like the traditionalist type, rising his kids with the certainty they'd probably die in short time or fight him over territory later so any closeness was irrelevant). Rask's lack of emotion when meeting him again and the ease they had getting to blows and drawing blood isn't that surprising in that kind of cold relationship.

With how short lived and underwhelming that reunion with his father was, I feel like it would almost make more sense to have it had been a sibling or something. Idk how to put it into words exactly.. But it feels like there shouldve been more emotion from Rask when seeing his father. More hesitant to attack him and more eager to try and get him out of the forest. I'm sorry if it doesnt make sense to anyone.. I would be more likely to attack my sibling than my parent if I were in this situation. Then again, Rasks relationship with his father is also something to take into consideration and how close they were initially. With all that said, I am still impressed as always with the artist ❤

Depends on how much they know of medicinal properties certain things have.
The real danger is infection and it was a very long time before there was a solid answer to that. A decent poultice may help but the best thing is to keep the wound clean.
Honey, alcohol, certain types of maggots and a few other things can help with keeping injuries clean and infection free. However if he does get an infection then it's down to if he's able to fight it off or not and how bad the infection gets.

True indeed. It's only now Hemlock's true moral challenge starts: after murdering a true monster, will she able to see Rask (the very son of said monster) isn't the same and deserves to be better treated?

Whether you love her or hate her, Hemlock has a point; killing Yarrow was inevitable. If Rask had successfully gotten through to him, he never would have been accepted by Stone Hollow; Rask is tolerated at best as it is. Had they let him go, he would have too far too big a liability; he could come back to continue hunting them either by himself or even with other predators. Even if he didn't, just the fact that he knew of the location was a problem. He could get caught later by another predator and try to use that information to talk his way out of getting eaten.
This was the only chance Hemlock would have gotten to strike the killing blow. Yarrow had already shown that he was a far better fighter than her, even with her spear. As unfortunate as it is, this outcome was the only way to truly ensure that Stone Hollow would continue to be safe from predators. At least for the time being.

At least she has now enough respect for Rask to actually talk to him and confront worldviews (even if, judging by the last panel, she is very tempted to stab him right here). Even if she wouldn't admit it she now sees him as a person. It's a little step forward but a good one, a sign she isn't too far gone yet.

In the course of a day, Rask made a new friend and discovered his Dad is alive, and then lost both of them. Here's hoping the poor martin gets time to grieve.

A coward would've ran or left the other Rabbit and gone to get Oren.
Hemlock is many things but a coward isn't one of them.

Sweet, she's actually having an almost decent conversation with Rask. Certainly they're disagreeing, yes her spearpoint is still dripping with Yarrow's blood...
But she's treating him more decently than she ever has. It's progress, he has a chance.

I think Hemlock is supposed to be a sympathetic character. Her backstory certainly leads to it, awful as it was. No one should have to live through that, BUT (you know one was coming) she is not likeable. She has a weapon and is a bully with it. Is all talk, full of fire and spit, but when it came down to it, she was a coward. She can’t fight even with the spear. Anything she’s seems to have killed or even gotten over on Rask has been either by surprise or when helpless through other means, like being pinned. She’s not a warrior or guardsman but a murderer. Sad thing, though, is that I understand why. It’s completely logical why she is this way, and that’s good writing. I still just can’t really stand her the way she is presently, but maybe that’s the point right now.

Or is she defending herself from being killed by the predators? Yarrow would certainly have ended her life there, just as he did two of her friends.

Killing is not a solution ... whatever the motivations or the circumstances.
fighting evil with evil can be a solution. (but it's very risky) find predators like Rack and Egg, bring them together to defend the stone hollow. and here is a society that is created.

Hemlock is really just scared to die, like everyone else, she just went through so much suffering that now she wants to eliminate everything that could hurt her or the stone hollow, which is a very human way of taking on big problems with no easy answer. But that's making her not really different from the hunters she is so scared about.....
though we have seen that many predators simply won't listen or even comprehend what the preys have to say, so killing them is the only way to keep themselves safe, at least for now.

I don't know why but I have the impression that hemlock is less angry with Rash, right?
He is on the right track to succeed in making her understand which one is wrong.
