If Rask let him go that means a predator will be free to roam while knowing where the warren is and what are is "oddities", and he looks the vengeful type, that may cause them many headaches. But if Hemlock chooses to "cut the knot" it would be traumatic for poor Rask... (Also it's nice to see Rask having a chance to look truly badass here. He doesn't have much occasions to show that he IS a predator and a survivor.)
