It would teach those at the hallow that they can't just rely on one person knowing how to fight for real. It would teach Hemlock that she's not a one bunny army, and while she is indeed strong she has to accept the real limitations of her species and ask for help, and it would give Rask a chance to prove himself to the group for real.

But maybe Yarrow is more experienced at killing and fighting than Hemlock, which would be interesting to see, and it would be quite messed up if everyone else comes in to see Yarrow giving Hemlock, the only one at stone Hollow with as much experience killing as she has, the ass kicking she never imagined herself receiving. Maybe Rask sees the others horrified/heatbroken expressions as Hemlock is just getting tossed around, yet never giving up because, like she said, she won't loose another family. Rask then sees Hemlock in a new light, and maybe stops Yarrow before he gets the chance to finish her off

2020-07-27 23:49:12 +0000 UTCShe's shaking... is that fear? Or adrenaline? Also mild criticism but... her right foot should be forwards, not the left. It'll be more comfortable with the side of the body her spear is on and add power should she step forwards with the thrust. Keeping her arms tucked in is good though and as Shenanigan said... she better keep that tip aimed at her target's head/chest area.

And a very nice detail to have Hemlock, for as aggressive and strong willed as she is, struggle to control her panic in this fight. After all she is facing a predator specialized in preys of her type. Also I wonder how "far" would Rask go to save Hemlock if she happened to loose the fight. He resents Hemlock for how she treated him and the attacker is none other than his father and last remaining family member. None of that makes for big incentives to help her (and makes the "grab the broken spear head to stab the guy about to kill her" trope quite unlikely to happen).
