2020-07-21 04:14:30 +0000 UTCWith the placement of that spear tip, I have a feeling what's going to happen is Yarrow is going to get Hemlock down, and then Rask is going to come in from behind with the spear tip to save the day. Should give a bit Hemlock a bit of 'humble pie' and help her understand both that she can't judge Rask like she does other martens, and that she DOES need more help than she thinks she does. But, nothing wrong with needing help.

Did Hemlock try to stab Rask, or did she accidentally scratch him because Yarrow kicked him out of the way? I’m guessing the next page with clear it up if she’s actually hostile towards both of them. ;). Really love the motions and facial expressions in this one.

2020-07-21 02:48:44 +0000 UTCPersonally I think Hemlock was aiming for both of them (or, alternatively, just Rask initially and believing that once she dealt with one she’d be able to handle the other). She only missed because Yarrow kicked Rask out of the way of what would have been a fatal injury. If you notice in the second to last panel, when Yarrow kicks Rask he isn’t actually looking /at/ Rask; he’s looking at Hemlock. If it was a coincidental kick coinciding with the spear strike that accidentally saved Rask, I feel like it would make more sense for Yarrow’s focus to be directly on Rask. Just my two bits (and maybe I’m picking up a detail that wasn’t intended to be there) but I certainly hope Rask and Hemlock don’t have an immediate team up and kill Yarrow. Yarrow himself seems set in his ways of viewing prey animals only as a food source, but I’d like to see him get the chance to change and learn that the old way isn’t always the right way.

2020-07-20 21:17:38 +0000 UTCI agree, however I dont think she was waiting for him to move, considering he wouldn't know to move since he doesnt know shes there. I think she was aiming for Yarrows side at an odd angle and when he kicked Rask up he got sliced by it.

2020-07-20 21:15:25 +0000 UTCMy theory is that Hemlock was actually aiming the spear at Yarrow and was just waiting for Rask to move out of the way. Because Rask looks like he was only slashed because Yarrow kicked Rask up.
