Also it was revealed that Quanac got along with Sibyl, who warn him about the cull. Quanac warned Yarrow, telling the truth, how did he got this info, but Yarrow didn't believed. Quanac warned Rask then, lying to him how he found out about the cull - probably Rask wouldn't listen too, if he would know that info was coming from prey. Late pages (Rask meeting Yarrow) -and very previous ones too- shows that Rask thought that everyone was dead, so he had (he thought he had) no one to look for back there where his old den was, that only he and Quanac survived.
And page 110 was just loose memories of Rask and his previous life as full-time predator ;3
Nothing suggesting in them that Rask was living only with his uncle.
I think so...

I imagine the martens live(d) in a lose family group, hunting together sometimes in smaller groups and sharing food caches, with Rask's dad being the territorial leader. They probably didn't all live in the same den, grouping up (like before the cull) on rare occasions. Real-life pine martens are solitary by nature and Rask's dad (and most adults) wouldn't be any different-- Quanaq was the weird one. Waaaay back, pages 33 and 38, also have a little insight to what Yarrow was like.

Nono. I know about the cull.. But prior to that. I ask because on page 110, hes with his uncle and what looks to be a sibling. I just wondered if and why he stayed with his uncle instead of his father.

That or she's waiting for the right moment, she's not an idiot, taking on two pine martens at once would be too much for her alone.
Two exhausted pine martens that've injured eachother? That's a better matchup.

Honestly, I'm amazed at Hem's restraint <_<

Will Yarrow die here (by Rask's or Hemlock's hands) or get away? And how hard will it be for poor Rask? I also got to wonder about Hemlock's apparent shock. I can't help but think it's more than just seeing Sprig dead, like she realized something bigger out of what she saw...

Why was Rask living with Quanaq and not his father?

I don't think she'll try anything, but I wouldn't say there isn't a chance that she thinks they're fighting over the food. Either she witnessed the whole scene so she understands what's going on, either we've lost all chance of her not advocating for Rask's execution. We'll see soon enough :-|

Lets just hope she understands that Rask is trying to drive Yarrow off and isn't coming in to do them both in while they're fighting.

Go Rask! Show Yarrow who's boss! (Hemlock may have to save Rask's tail, calling it now)
