Today's Page & News

Heya everyone! I'm sorry new pages have been slow this month. February has turned into a real scramble. The last few days I've been out of town on a short-notice trip to help my mom with some less-than-fun stuff. I wasn't able to get everything done art-wise that I wanted to before I left, so new page will be out late Wednesday.

I have to figure out my schedule going into March, but it looks like I need to slow down a little. I'm moving into a lot of complicated pages that are taking me a whole lot longer to finish than I guessed. I've also been going full tilt at Oren's Forge for the last year and I'm struggling with a wee bit of burnout. I've never found a great solution to burnout that wasn't "just keep working" so that's the plan, but it does make me work slower.

I will probably be posting one page a week for a bit so I can get ahead again, take the time to sleep on my layouts, and not get stuck rushing out inferior pages. I find if I take a few days on layouts I can usually cut two pages down to one better page.

Anyway, however you guys support the comic, please know I appreciate it! Even if it's just sharing Oren's Forge with a friend, thank you so much! :]

Other News:

-February's Request Art Stream will be on Saturday the 29th (woo, Leap Day!) I'll post the form for the request stream tomorrow afternoon, with all the stream details. (Reminder, you don't have to attend the stream to potentially have your request drawn!)

-Been kicking around some print options for an English hardcopy of Oren's Forge with an indie publisher, so I'll let you guys know if there's any news from that front!

I support you in the hopes you can continue with the amazing art and story. There is no point to force yourself to commit to a timeline if it results in an interior result. I wish you the best in dealing with family issues and hope you understand that your supporters want the best for you and your creations. Every new page feels like a blessing when I had previously feared we'd never see the end of this story. Take care of yourself and take care to do the best quality this story deserves.

Take care of your family. And Oren's Forge must stay a enjoyment for you, it shouldn't become a pain. One page a week, it’s enough for me.

Thanks for the suggestion! :D

Family is more important! Take care of that first! Maybe take some you time and do something creative/fun? I usually go out pottery painting with friends and just character talk - nothing plot like but just fun character reactions. Sometimes its fun to find out about them on the fly - and that can sometimes help spark things again? Just something that helps me when a roleplay between friends goes dead in the water with plot!

I am sorry about the less-than-fun stuff, and the burnout. Take all of the time you need!
