Added 2020-02-29 23:29:04 +0000 UTCSo, recently Patreon added global shipping for their merch rewards, finally making the service usable as I have many patrons from around the globe, especially Europe and Asia. Formerly it only included US, Canada and Australia.
I thought that'd be a nice reward for all of your support but there's a few issues.
First of all, they only offer stickers, mugs, posters and shirts, which is ok, but very limited as far as merch goes, especially for this kind of game.
Second, it's very expensive and you have to pledge for 3 months in the merch tier to be eligible, there isn't a way around that, it's how they implemented the system. In order to break even I'd have to put shirts on the $15 tier, which after 3 months would be $45 for just a shirt, which is stupidly expensive, but I suppose you also get the patron benefits for that time, as little as they might be.
If possible I'd like to set a proper merch store which would be better for everyone, but I don't have that time at the moment, that's something to consider for after the game release. As of now, letting Patreon handle everything is the wiser choice. That's why I wanted to hear all your opinions. If it's something you'd be interested in or not.
As for next build news, still a while before release, but it's going smoothly. The dialogue is mostly all written and the new characters fully functional. The composer started working on the new tracks too, It's all implementation from here on.
