This one is an arctic couzin of the quill-cat - The Boreal Scythepaw. A large predator, they mostly prey on seals and other amphibious animals. Like Quill-cats they need an aspect of their parent element to grow, so they covet chunks of purest coldest ice which they keep in a pouch located in their thickly furred tails. Over time the ice hardens into unmelting ever-ice, the desire for which is the main source of conflict between these creatures and humans.
Comments
Most monsterkin don't eat humanoids (usually), so 'peace' is possible, but trade not really outside of very specific situations. They do discard old ice they no longer need if they find a better piece and need to make room, so that is one possibility. Monsterkin can't talk, and typically aren't exposed to language which makes exchange of intent difficult as well.
