Tank-shears like these are one of the few ‘legal’ Gyre machines. Carried by a Scissor-Trooper (usually called a Tuna Man by the rank and file) they are for cutting into machines to get at gyre that needs disposing. A Scissor-Trooper and a Gyre Eater form the core of a disposal team.
