When dosed up even a waifish girl like Nem is a match for any soldier, but due to its addictive and mutative nature Gyre Eaters would only seek to use this in an emergeancy - such as when a routine inspection turns into an attempt to cover up illegal use of the prohibited substance in engines of war.
(Nem’s mutations are centered around her eye because it was the first major organ she regenerated)

First taste of combat. Gyre Eater training includes consuming it and learning to be in control during the rush. They also get a ration, since its addictive.
