When a crystal peach ‘goes off’ it hardens into a hard but non-brittle crystal and they are quite pretty both before this happens and afterwards. This combined with their rarity they can be valuable as treasures or baubles. In some cases they are pulped and poured into molds to form elaborate shapes and items in the resulting crystal. Particularly ostentatious nobles occasionally have weapons or armor crafted in this fashion. These items always give off a peachy scent too. Peaches can remain edibly soft for a few weeks after reaching full ripeness.
