Not as good as Ragnarok. Ragnarok's post-colonialism themes were handled stronger, and there isn't a moment as powerful the Odin stuff in Ragnarok. Nothing as good as "Are you THor, the God of Hammers?" But I missed Marvel movies that were this thematically tight. Every moment was rooted in the central ideas of life and death, immortality and stasis and legacy. Felt like the most complete and tight Marvel movie since Black Panther

2022-07-10 05:28:16 +0000 UTCAs I've remarked before, I do like over the top restraints for super-strong characters. I saw it today (no spoilers, but I find Taika Waititi's sense of humour a bit corny at times) and must remember to suggest Valkyrie for next month at the appropriate time.
