https://store.steampowered.com/app/687590/Junipers_Knot/ found it on steam too and the description really feels 'early visual novel in the west' days hehe. i love the art so i'll check it out! "Juniper's Knot is a short (~30 mins) kinetic novel about the meeting of a demon and a boy. A kinetic novel is a game that uses text, sound, and illustrations to tell a story. "

It's been so long, but when I went looking, I found a VN that had similar art to what I remember called Juniper's Knot: https://vndb.org/v9986 I'm not sure if this is it, but it could be!

umineko is a good one! i think ace attorney is much more straightforward than umineko so that should help, haha. i'm curious about what the demon girl vn is! i wonder if it's still available...

One of these days, I need to actually play an Ace Attorney game... I like mysteries (Umineko is my favourite VN) but I am rarely smart enough to solve them myself :) Interesting to learn about how mobile VNs are often created within suffocating limitations. I've only played two on mobile because at least on iOS around 7-8 years ago, there was basically nothing there in the west. So I got through a bit of Steins;Gate and this three-hour free VN about a demon girl? Can't remember the name. And there was pretty much nothing else on the App Store. Things are way different now, I'm sure.
