What do you think of this story idea? (Poll)
Added 2020-09-20 06:17:05 +0000 UTC I've been watching a lot of youtubers play 'Among Us' lately and it's given me an idea. If your not familiar with the game the basic idea is you have 10 players, but 2 are imposters. the players all have tasks to do and it's the imposters job to try and kill the other 8 players without getting caught. When a players body is killed all the players get together and discuss who they think is the killer and then vote who, if anyone they want to kill in an effort to save everyone else. The idea being to kill the imposters so everyone else survives, but you don't always know if you've killed someone if they were an innocent, or an imposter. If your still confused look up Jacksepticeye Among Us on youtube you'll figure it out pretty quickly.
Now, my idea, is to play a kind of 'Among Us' game in a story. I would take ten characters, and randomly select one or two to be the imposters using a D10 dice. I would then write a story, randomly following the actions of one of the characters who would then come across one or more of the others hypnotized, knocked out, or frozen (again selected randomly via dice). I would then have the characters detail where they were, and who they say. the story would then end with a poll. Giving you the reader the ability to discuss in the comments who you think the imposter is, and who if anyone should be voted out (probably use some kind of hypnotic stasis chamber to incapacitate the person that is selected). All Tie breakers would be decided by me using a coin.
I would give the readers a week or so to vote and then write the next chapter. Detailing who was selected, but not saying if they were an imposter or not. at least not until all imposters are found. If you guys as a community successfully find all the imposters, I would come up with some kind of reward in response. Probably leave it up to a poll or something. If not... well then I'd win. I would also post detailed scenes of how the imposters got their victims after the fact as a kind of bonus for playing along.
I wouldn't be ready to take on this kind of project until at LEAST the beginning of the year, and it would be a slow project as it would have a built in lag time. I would also be posting it publicly either the same week or the week after it posted here, where as I usually like to give you guys content at least a month in advance of public posting (some times MUCH more) this would require it be more timely but patrons would still get first dibs.
So what do you think? Do you like this idea or not?
