That's what I try to do yeah, telling a story with a single frame, as if it's a moment captured in another reality. Though I do love the painting-style of work as well and of course to frame things up I draw from it, I adore it that something is happening and it's up to the viewer to decide what lead to it and will come from it, sparking a bit of creativity.

It almost feels like your scene are photographs capturing a fleeting moment rather than a painting in which everything is properly posed. Your characters' expression always seem to find themselves inbetween two states while still perfectly conveying what they feel. I don't know how you do it, but it keeps blowing my mind :D
