Chapter 57: Breaking the House Points Record

Three days later, the school auditorium.

Today was the year-end banquet, and all the young wizards were in the Great Hall, enjoying their last dinner of the semester.

The entire hall was decorated in Ravenclaw's iconic blue, and the eagle logo was scattered throughout the space.

Ravenclaw's students were as jubilant as if celebrating the New Year.

This year, Ravenclaw had finally won the House Cup and also claimed the Quidditch Championship.

Just yesterday, Ravenclaw had successfully restrained Harry with Erwin's excellent play.

Cho had smoothly caught the Golden Snitch.

Throughout the match, whenever Harry made a move, Erwin could always hit the Bludgers accurately and hinder his movements.

After the game, Harry and the twins looked at Erwin with resentful expressions, making him feel rather uncomfortable.

The Weasley twins didn't let Erwin off the hook until he agreed to visit the Burrow during summer vacation.

At this moment, Erwin was sitting next to Cho, and the two of them were discussing their summer vacation plans.

"Mum and Dad invited you to our house in their letter," Cho said, staring at Erwin as if she was ready to cry if he didn't agree.

"No problem, but I'm not sure about the exact time. I have some things to do during the summer and I'll have to leave London," Erwin replied, his scalp tingling. He was a bit nervous about that.

"What do your parents like?" he asked tentatively.

Cho was amused when she saw his nervous expression, but she was more pleased than anything.

Wasn't this proof that Erwin cared about making a good impression?

"Don't be nervous, Erwin. They're easy to talk to, and you're so brilliant, they'll love you."

Hearing this, Erwin felt somewhat relieved.

At that moment, Dumbledore walked in, and the noise in the auditorium gradually subsided.

"Another year has passed!" Dumbledore said cheerfully.

"Before you leave for the holidays, I must trouble you to listen to an old man's rambling."

"Now, as you know, we need to conduct the House Cup award ceremony. The specific scores for each house are as follows:"

"Fourth place, Gryffindor, 312 points."

"Third place, Hufflepuff, 352 points."

"Second place, Slytherin, 451 points."

"First place, Ravenclaw, 502 points!"

A thunderous roar of cheers and applause erupted from the Ravenclaw table.

Even Hufflepuff and Gryffindor students were applauding them.

Slytherin had won the House Cup for six consecutive years, and Ravenclaw's victory this time was deeply satisfying to everyone.

Apart from Slytherin, the other three houses held at least some grievances against them.

Erwin saw Snape viciously slashing at his steak with his knife and fork, and he could almost hear the screech of metal against the plate.

Snape noticed Erwin watching him and shot him a fierce glare.

Erwin wasn't bothered; instead, he returned a bright smile that only made Snape angrier.

'This Gaunt boy is absolutely shameless.' Snape thought bitterly.

"However, several recent events must also be taken into account."

Dumbledore looked toward the Gryffindor table, which dimmed the smiles of Ravenclaw's students.

Erwin didn't panic at all.

If the old headmaster dared to let Gryffindor surpass Ravenclaw, well, he'd certainly have words about it.

As if sensing his gaze, Dumbledore tilted his head to look at him and smiled slightly.

"Mr. Ron Weasley bravely stood with his friends in the face of danger, and for that, I award Gryffindor 50 points."

"Miss Hermione Granger, with her profound knowledge, keen observation, and calm reasoning, has earned Gryffindor 50 points."

"Mr. Harry Potter showed fearless courage and extraordinary bravery in the face of crisis. I award Gryffindor 60 points."

The cheers of the Gryffindors nearly lifted the enchanted ceiling.

They were overjoyed, although they hadn't surpassed Ravenclaw, they had at least beaten their rival, Slytherin, with 472 points.

Dumbledore raised his hand, and the Gryffindors slowly quieted down.

"Finally..."

At this, Ravenclaw's students grew anxious.

If Dumbledore conjured up an excuse to add more points to Gryffindor, wouldn't that tie them with Ravenclaw?

"Mr. Erwin Gaunt, I must admit, he is the most talented young wizard I have ever seen. He defeated a powerful enemy brilliantly and protected an important treasure of Hogwarts."

"For this... I award Ravenclaw 200 points! Additionally, Ravenclaw has managed to break the record and become the highest house scorer in history."

"BOOM!"

The Ravenclaw side erupted into complete pandemonium.

The cheers from Ravenclaw's students, particularly the girls, were no less enthusiastic than Gryffindor's moments before.

A whole crowd of young witches pounced on Erwin like a wave, hugging and raising him.

Cho, who was beside him, didn't mind at all; she happily threw herself into his arms as well.

It wasn't until Dumbledore called for order that the group of witches gradually calmed down.

Erwin crawled out from the pile of girls with difficulty.

His robes were nearly torn off, and his face was covered in lipstick marks.

Harry, watching from the Gryffindor table, looked positively envious.

Finally, in this joyful atmosphere, the banquet came to an end. The Ravenclaw students escorted Erwin back to the dormitory like an honor guard.

In the end, Erwin practically rolled and crawled into the boys' dormitory corridor.

'This group of witches, they're terrifying!'
