Sleepless - process, inspiration, & WIP

this is a little series of 3 illustrations about a girl who can't sleep. I originally planned 3 more sketches but decided not to finish them so I don't overwhelm myself. I usually never have problems falling asleep, I can fall asleep so easily, on-demand even lol but since I started working on this piece I've been waking up in the middle of the night for no reason so now I'm getting superstitious hahah
I'm a huge fan of Tatami Galaxy, it has such a unique and playful style. I rewatched it recently and got super inspired, especially by how the colors are not realistic at all but they pull you in the world and convey the mood. but um Idk how I feel about my execution, this fridge one has a long way to go.
Another thing that inspired me recently is a new game called Sorry We're Closed, It's basically a gay Silent Hill haha I love its PS1 aesthetic and the contrast between the character's bright colors and the muted/ depressing colors of the environment.
I'm hoping to finish the remaining 2 this month, so let's see :')
