It doesn’t feel like a new year, does it? it’s more like, oh I blinked and now I have triple existential crisis haha but I hope you all had cozy holidays and new year’s with your loved ones <333

I don’t have any dramatic goals for this year, I just want to find more ways to enjoy what I’m doing. I haven’t been able to do much art lately because most of my time goes to recording and editing my online class. So new ideas are piling up in my head and I’m always biting my nails eager to start them, but I do sketch on my sketchbook from time to time so I’ll be sharing some of that here.

The first image with the city lights is this month’s phone & desktop wallpaper, I made an icon pack and printables of it as well! This one is a little demo for the class I’m recording. I’m really worried that it’s not good enough so I might go back and redo it 🥲🥲🥲

On a more ✨inspiring note✨ l recently came across this artwork by Petrenko Yuriy and my eyes went all sparkly! the color harmony and brush strokes are insanely beautiful! it’s been such a long time since I’ve seen an artwork that made me feel this way. It also looks a lot like morocco? But I’m not sure, I just feel soo inspired whenever I look at these paintings.

Also I just discovered there’s something called scrape painting?? I found it after I came across Clara Cristina’s work while scrolling on Instagram! Her work and process are soo satisfying to look at! I think she uses acrylic paint to create them and it looks so fun and meditative, so it’s something I definitely want to experiment with at some point!

I’m going out of my way these days to find new inspiration, whether it is art, music, or movies. Because I miss that sense of wonder I used to get from art when I first started my art journey <3
