The Official 2025-26 RAB Offseason Plan

Indicator of talent, not success. Read. Too much noise in playoff sample size to draw conclusions. What even was your conclusion to be drawn when the team that played worse still won the WS this year, with a center fielder hitting .078/.113/.098?

I know you put a lot of work into this post every year. I also think that you assume that the Yankees have this artificial constraint that limits what can be done. Here are my questions: 1. Will your projected lineups and rotation beat the Dodgers? 2. Will they beat the Red Sox or Blue Jays? 3. If regular season performance is a better indicator of success, why do the last 25 years, with the lone exception of 2009, feel like failure? Some hard facts: 1. The teams with the greatest post-season success since 2001 are the Red Sox, Giants, Dodgers, Cardinals, and Astros. That is an entire generation. The Yankees are no longer the standard of excellence. 2. The top five team winning percentages since 2009--the last Yank championship--are Dodgers (.590), Yankees (.572), Cardinals (.542), Rays (.538), and Braves (.537). The big market teams, Dodgers and Yankees, consistently have regular season success over the long haul. The Yankees are a statistically significant second against the Dodgers. The Yankees assertion that they cannot sell off because of Yankee fan high expectations ring hollow. The Dodgers got around it. The Yanks need a complete overhaul and new approach. No-hit platooned center fielders will not produce a champion. Nor will .210, .220, and .230 hitting lower order hitters. Judge cannot carry this load forever.
