It's finally here, and it's a tricky one. In short, the answer to the "is it a scam" question is yes and no. It's not a binary answer, and the episode will explain it better.

I own one, I backed the Kickstarter, I received mine in September. I find it's great, however on very warm days of course you need to fill the water tank (not a swamp cooler) often, and it does kick out a LOT of heat out of the back of it. So, I'd suggest putting it in a doorway. I have a lovely/hate relationship with it. Yes it pumps out ice cold air, at the detriment of either simultaneously making the whole room warmer with a jet of frozen air to the face, or you put it in a doorway to push the eat elsewhere. The dehumidifier function is a nice touch.
