From Roland's perspective, Kai is his demigod master who gave him a 'role' a long time ago (to maintain control of the city where he lives), and so Roland is primarily focused on doing that role. Without Kai outright asking Roland to help, he is going to assume that his 'basically undefeatable' master will be able to handle things himself.

2025-10-22 01:31:23 +0000 UTC#2- I feel like Kai needs to play defeated, depressed and terrified for Liz. Faux-Eve needs to feel confident and cocky like she has 1,000% won. Petra and Ariana need to be asking questions that keep F-E thinking about her lies and what the truth is so that Gwen has trouble reading her surface thoughts. Once they have the whole plan, the bitch can be killed in the blink of an eye, so even if she is a blood mage she has no time to think to cast a spell.

2025-10-22 01:31:09 +0000 UTC#3- I am very much looking forward to this confrontation with this 'faux-Eve'. I'm betting it's one of the Blood Trinity, or at least one of their agents. It's worth noting that this is the first major conflict where he had the chance to make significant preparations. The Shiva arch-demon, Dante, his father, Jonadab, and the werewolf army were all attacks he was limited by reacting to an enemy's actions. Here he is the hunter laying a trap for the outclassed prey. The enemy's defeat is not in question, the imposter will be dead or fleeing very soon. The only variables here is, will Kai learn everything he needs to know, will Ariana be restored to his trust and will they be able to save Liz. This cocky bitch is going down hard. Kai has to many pissed off women with him for any other outcome.

I also think it's weird that he didn't ask Rowland to help. Also weird Rowland needed to tell him directly about Eve. I hope this build up around Eve is going to pay off. I hope they aren't walking into a trap by the queen. And maybe that's why Eve stayed away. We know people around him do things based on what he's told them to do before he got his new body.
