2025-09-15 05:59:04 +0000 UTCTo your point, for me personally i do wonder how much of Jessicas character/personality that we have seen so far is dictated by her knowing about her imminent death. I feel like theres a possibility that we havent seen her 'true self', rather we have witnessed someone who feels they have nothing to lose and so has indulged in every vice/desire theyve had, knowing theyre not long for this world and so consequences be damned. If we assume Kais blood will cure her, i'd be interested to see how that might shift/change her personality/mentality going forward; as youve pointed out, if she remains relatively the same then her and Nick do seem to have very little common ground, however if her entire perspective towards life changes once shes healed, then that could create the potential for her to become someone that perhaps would like to have a serious, long term and committed relationship; with her desiring to have a deeper, more meaningful connection with someone.

Does Kai assume with Nick's razor sharp mind he automatically connected the dots and despite Ren being his ex-guardian, and that there is a 5 year age gap they are now sexually active with each other? Granted, Nick knew about Avery, Natalie, Gabriella and (maybe?) Raegan. But unless Jessica told him, or more probably, he figured it out from all the clues and innuendo she was dropping, why would Nick suspect something? It would seem weird to make that leap normally even if Kai has multiple girlfriends. As to Jessica's and Nick's chemistry, I never really ever thought they would end up in a committed relationship. Jessica is a free spirit, eager to experience any and everything that intrigued her. All because her entire adult life was focused on her knowing that she would die young. She wanted to make her life count for something. Nick is laser focused and disciplined on his job and his obsession with solving mysteries. The only hint he has a sex drive is his interest in Ren. He has shown little humor, and his whole social life we have seen revolves around his job or a modest crush on Serenity. He's traditional, family focused and a dedicated to his job. Jessica has gotten used to having sex with whomever she wants, whenever she wants. She isn't going to give that up lightly. I think joining the harem is the only real solution for her. There is a large pool of potential sexual partners, friends and mentors aplenty with like minded people and she'll be better protected than anywhere else.

Not a true domme, but loving the idea of enthralling him after thousands of years of being his servant, and turning the tables on him and making him into her very captivated sex pet. I think she's going to be shocked to find out he has a couple of dozen women he is now very intimate with. It feels like she will make a game of seducing Kai in a very exhibitionist way to get a step up over the other women.

Like theyre so indifferent to the world around them alot of the time, seemingly not caring about anything and being very self-indulgent; however when they want their "masters" affection they become extremely demanding, possessive and need to be the centre of attention, but only on their own terms and only for as long as they want. I can honestly imagine that once the sex between Kai and Brooke is finished, she'll go right back to being disinterested in the world around her and retreat to a safe space until she feels the need for her "masters" attention again. Thats one of the reasons that she seems more like a literal 'pet' rather than a 'wife' like the others in Kais harem; whilst they enjoy each others company and interact as fellow 'wives', it feels to me like Brookes character would hate having her time with her "master" shared with anyone else. I personally wouldnt have minded Nick and Jessica getting together. It feels like they could have made a good pairing, with them having a connection to the harem through Serenity and their work together as police officers; they also could have maybe begun to work directly under Roland to help him keep the city safe and stop any situations like the one thats just occurred from ever happening. However, from the way theyve interacted thus far it seems as though that wont be happening, so im interested to see what their roles in Kais life (and the story in general) will look like. I do believe that Nick should be given Kais blood, as his role as a detective would make him a valuable asset, while him feeling indebted to Kai means he wont easily betray him.

They’re at the point with Nick of saying nothing more about the supernatural or having to change him because Kai can’t remember how to block compulsion for someone.
