FEEDBACK:
Thoughts?

1. What did you think about the interaction with each person? (With Nicole, with Jessica, and now with Claire?)

2. Thoughts on the situation? (Arrest, Claire's involvement, etc.)

3. Also, as I mentioned above, this chapter takes a turn I wasn't planning initially (with Claire's involvement). And because of it, Kai is about to have his first real ‘fight’ with one of his women. Perhaps he is overreacting a little, but I mean, do you see how his reaction is justified? Her actions are risky and will potentially put her in danger, and also could potentially cause complications for him, so I hope that's communicated. Let me know if it's not.

The arrest was too vague, I know that was intentional, but or should I say Claire's involvement was too vague. I think she was invisible, or not at the end when she was yelling. I didn't get a clear picture of what was going on. Would like some resolutions, problem created, addressed resolved, at this point there are more and more conflicts being added but seem to be lost in the shuffle. Still enjoying the story.

I love that you brought up what Natalie said to her. I should probably try to bring that up in the story.

Some great deductions.

I like to keep you guys on your toes!

If you've read the Wolfgirl's Pet Witch story (a prequel to this), the main character (a werewolf) also senses auras 'through smell.'

Author Kaizer Wolf

Claire definitely has more growing to do, but I think that makes her an interesting character. She clearly already thinks she's come a long way, and Kai is acknowledging her efforts, but we can see that there are some 'hidden issues' with her behavior. And perhaps some misconceptions on her end, including just how 'immortal' she really is. Perhaps unable to die permanently, but still suspectable to suffering. Some great thoughts and feedback here.

One thing that has bothered me for awhile is, we haven’t seen Roland since he was turned. Kai has talked to him. But hasn’t met up with him. I think Kai needs to find out more about what has been going on since his rebirth.

J Bone

Ya I think Kai overreacts mostly because the old Kai was short tempered. And would kill without remorse. So this new Kai has to deal that in a better way. Plus he’s 18.

J Bone

Maybe she’s not Claire but Eve.

Kai formed an alpha-like bond similar to what he 'originally' had with Natalie prior to knowing that mind-reading was a thing. Basically, like an alpha werewolf, he can dictated what Nicole does and communicate nonverbal 'needs,' but he can't directly communicate telepathically with her at the moment (which was a concept that was only introduced when he unexpectedly formed a stronger bond with both Natalie and Avery together).

Author Kaizer Wolf

Nicole is shaping up into a very competent assistant/agent for Kai just when he needs someone of her talents. But correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Kai already bond with Nicole in the middle of the 'fight' with the Legion operatives? Didn't he see that he needed a bond with her instantly so she could react without talking to her? He just realized he needed to read her mind and she his...and poof bonded? She's not bonded with another woman, just Kai. But it seemed like they are now not bonded, am I incorrect? Claire's confidence has exploded. She is no longer obnoxious about things. But she definitely has learned to be assertive in positive ways. My take on Jessica is that she understands she is cursed or diseased and is not long for this world. She's trying to experience as much pleasure as she can with the time she has left, while also helping as many people as possible.

Christopher Miller

As to the arrest, well, to quote the Bard of Avon, "Methinks there is something rotten in the state of Denmark." Kai has no criminal record, no verifiable history of violence, and he so far as anyone knows, is an honor roll student about to graduate HS. And he has an arrest warrant out on him. He's not being brought in for questioning, he's not a person of interest, they already have a warrant and 'know' he's guilty of something. Warrants can take days to get, and Kai has specific protections around him to keep the possibility of something like this from happening. Roland has a small army of police officers, judges, doctors and other public servants in his pocket to make sure Kai is protected and to ensure nothing gets close enough to threaten his mental stability. Even though this is Roland Jr's only priority, the one job over every other job he has, somehow a big chunk of a high profile division of the Police department devotes time, money and energy to do just that. No competent police department would make an arrest of someone with a warrant for a murder at a school full of innocent kids that could be caught in the crossfire of a confrontation. They'd wait until he stepped out of his car at home. That is, they wouldn't unless they were playing a game of trying to embarrass, humiliate or intimidate a powerful adversary. So yes, I'm calling Roland Jr. out for trying to remove Kai for getting in the way of Trey's *destiny* and Roland Jr. to stupid to fathom he is so out of his weight class that can't see the giant in front of him.

Christopher Miller

As for Claire rebelling and ignoring what Kai wanted her to do, well I think she was taking what Natalie told her to heart. And I'm paraphrasing because I am to lazy to look for the exact quote. "He loves each one of enough to put his life at risk for us, and each one of us would never allow him to die that way." She sees what she is doing as stepping up to do what needs to be done even if Kai disagrees with her choice. Of course, outside of Tracey and Raegan she's the least experienced member of the family. That said, she could go nuclear and level half the city without killing Kai, and she seems to be a prodigy with light magic. So yes, both Kai and Claire are right, and both should also consider the other's POV. But also, Kai has also been forced to save Claire's life three times in less than two weeks. Stuff like that can create a serious bond all on it's own without magic, additionally Kai takes protecting her very seriously. So yes, he is being over protective. That said, there is probably something or someone supernatural behind this. What if that thing or person can see past light magic illusions?

Christopher Miller

I don't hate the way the story just changed directions a little. I actually enjoyed this chapter. So yeah to fantastic writing.

That response from Brant after Eric says "he f**king attacked her!" Is so suspicious. Attacking a police officer definitely matters normally and he could definitely be charged for what he did to Jessica so if the arrest really is about getting him arrested for a crime then they just witnessed him commit one. So it seems like they maybe aren't going to the police station and perhaps someone wants him shot on the side of the highway or something

Jack Dawson

It's obvious Nicole already has deep feelings for Kai either through Eve telling her over the years she belongs to Kai or through they sire bond they have. Jessica is just trying to live her life to the fullest before her illness kills her and helps her friend (Serenity) by protecting Kai or just helping where she can. How for Claire's she putting Kai before herself. The old Claire was self-centered, and now she is using her supernatural gifts for Kai. Nicole would have been a better option for being where Claire is due to her strong abilities and having access to Roland. The only problem in either Claire or Nicole is that neither have a mental bond with him. Also, Nicole still has to get Michelle out of the building. Who knows, Nicole, Avery, and Michelle could tag along. To an extent, Kai is overreacting. Which has been an ongoing issue with him. Claire is a seer and phoenix both with gift they have yet to touch on. However, he did go through all the trouble to keep her safe by distancing her. Probably not the best plan from the looks of it. Besides, nothing about this police question is legit. So our hero may need a little help.

The Archer

So I think that Jessica’s “rotten smell” is Kai’s third eye at work. For some reason he senses auras through smell like how he ran into Natalie and perceived the tainted meat at the banquet. What if what he smells on Jessica is the aura of death? She probably had a very traumatic experience in her past involving the gruesome death of someone by her own hand and has never gotten over it and believes she deserves to suffer for it, hence her suicidal behavior this chapter

Raul Salazar

Awesome chapter. Love how Nicole is so in sync with Kai even without a bond, she clearly wants to do everything she can to help him. The interaction with Jessica was interesting, she clearly has some demons in her past/present that make her value her own well being very little. Hopefully Kai can help with that because she seems a genuinely nice person. As far as Claire is concerned this selfish attitude has always been there, i believe its one of the reasons Kai was reluctant to involve her in his life. Every other woman would have never put him/themselves in danger like that; its almost like her own ego has said "im clearly special to Kai, look how much he's doing for me, i clearly have powers and can help him, thus ill get even closer to him" which truly is selfish. On top of that she already knows the dangers, she was kidnapped, compelled and almost killed, yet is willing to risk her and potentially Kais safety without knowing whats happening. It kind of makes sense why Kais kept her at arms length so far, im honestly not sure shes the type of woman he would have pursued if he could avoid it. Hopefully she will understand the mistake shes made and learn from it; this is one of the reasons why i feel Michelle could have a more maternal role with Claire, to help teach her how to be a better person and less of a spoiled brat, somewhat mirroring Michelles own growth from her youth. Maybe im being too harsh but it would be different if she had very little involvement/understanding of the risks out in the world, yet we know shes seen first hand the peril they can get caught up in which makes her choice so much more egotistical. Having said all that its obvious in life your not always going to do the right thing and having tension with his harem/disagreements is natural and will hopefully lead to them getting even closer. Theres also a possibility that she had a vision of the future and felt compelled to act, but i almost dont want that to be true as it would take away from the emotion, tension and obvious friction between Kai and Claire right now, and therefore not be an opportunity for her character to grow/mature. Finally Im not sure where Claire will end up, whether she will be more of a 'wife', 'concubine' or 'girlfriend' in Kais life, or how big of a role she'll have in the story overall, but im excited to find out.
