NOTE: This chapter is almost as long as two chapters.
After a full month of voting, the poll I did about ‘slice-of-life plot’ vs ‘action plot’ was exactly 50/50 in terms of what people like more.
However, that being said, there have been a vocal few who really want to see more plot soon, and so I tried to cover several things in this chapter (which is why it is so long).
It shouldn’t feel rushed, but it’s also a lot of steam.
Hopefully we will be able to get to some more of the non-steamy plot in the next chapter.
I should also have a chapter of Combat Healer ready soon, possibly for next weekend (the next chapter of Combat Healer will have some pretty significant revelations about the story, including some revelations you guys probably aren't expecting).

FEEDBACK: Thoughts?
When I first started this story, I wanted Kai to be a believable 18-year-old virgin, hence there was a lot of him being overwhelmed (and the women in his life being very assertive). However, now that he is getting more experience, I feel it is believable for him to become more assertive.
(I feel like I've done a pretty good job of having a believable transition.)
There will probably continue to be situations where the women in his life take a more assertive role, but hopefully you guys are enjoying him being the more assertive one as well.
1. Thoughts on the scene with Michelle, Rebecca, and Elizabeth? Hot? Not?

2025-01-14 23:49:57 +0000 UTCI've also wondered if there was a way to maximize the woman involved to create huge bonded pairs that would make everything so much easier, but he almost needs to divide everyone based on who can arguably fight, or use offensive magic and those that have no skills. After everything that's going on school should be over and him and his woman should be focused on training for the future especially with people digging into crap and his father may not be dead, not to mention whoever was Elizabeth's last alpha, even tho she had freedom, whoever this is might miss her and want her back, or any number of reasons, right now only 4 are capable of fighting, nat, Rosa, Gwen with her new claws, and rachael, if she can figure out how to become the angel of judgement again lol, or use her halo..... Granted because of who he is that's not really a problem but you never know what the future has in store or if all the Incubus decides he's a problem that needs to be snuffed out

I would prefer that I proved, plus we need Rachael and Laura's bond strengthened, especially Rachael who's been described as his confidence and his sword

I understood Kai not being very dominate at the start, being unsure and a virgin and all, but clearly he's an alpha of alpha males and should be mainly dominate, that doesn't mean romance can't and shouldn't be involved, and the occasional submission from him doing something one of his woman wanted.... But I'm waiting for him to truly dominate Miriam, we've already seen him dominate Delilah at the church and we know he can do it, now it's Miriam's turn. Reagan is still really confusing for me tho lol, but now I'm really wondering what's causing these bonds, is it the fact it's what he wants, because normally he's just hoping it happens... Better question is will we ever know. And yet again you brought up bethel maybe getting a body, but no me tion of that said body he designed, what happened?

2024-10-03 16:11:15 +0000 UTCNow that I think about it, I don't believe I've really had them communicate much since that happened. Largely because Rosa is just very quiet. Even in her mind, she is quiet. She very frequently is a silent observer. She wants to support her man, and she wants to support her new friends, but doesn't usually speak up unless she actually sees an opportunity to do that kind of thing. In a way, her mind is almost in a state of constant silence, almost as if she is in a permanent state of meditation. Not in the sense that she is truly meditating, but in the sense that she simply watches and observes without much conscious thought. Her being that way is partly due to what she experienced when she was younger, as a sort of 'becoming numb' to some of the traumatic things she experienced. For a lot of her life, she has simply 'existed,' not truly feeling alive, but feeling more like just a living doll being passed around from Point A to Point B. There was a lack of self-worth, and the only time she did have a strong opinion was when it came to things that she perceived as a transgression against God (like killing for her meals). However, now that her curse has been broken, I'd say that her silence is much more peaceful. She is happy just to exist. The silence is still there, but she feels alive now. Ironically, she's the kind of girl who, if you asked her opinion on something, she might not have very much to say. Most of us are used to other people at least having 'some opinion' on almost any topic, but there are some people in the world who sincerely haven't given a lot of things much thought. And if prompted to give a topic some thought, they often just don't have an opinion, even after thinking about it. Something that can make it difficult to have a conversation with such a person, to the point that having a friendship or relationship can be difficult. In Rosa's case though, that isn't really a problem for a variety of reasons.

He had no way of knowing if having children would ever be possible for him with anyone else, which is why Rachel and Kelsey exist. As to how he guaranteed that it would be possible with those two, that particular aspect has not been revealed yet.

Not sure if you're talking about the bond, or if you're talking about a scene that involves Natalie, Rosa, and Kai getting it on together. Right now, the bonds have become: Natalie, Rosa, Avery Serenity, Gwen Natalie, Serenity, and Elizabeth (with Nat and Ren both being in other bonds).

Who did he know who his women were going to be decades ago when he was planning this out? Eve, and very arguably Micah (who was 15 at the time) were candidates. A couple of vampires who may be completely incompatible genetically with him. Gwen, whose millennia long stasis between life and death may have compromised or damaged her ability to reproduce. And a pair of first generation of succubi who only give birth once every 750 years in the best of circumstances are his best hopes of having a real family, so of course he had a plan B. To say nothing of the fact he might have been uncertain if his blood could regenerate a 2,000+ year old injury enough to restore Delilah's fertility or that if he didn't recover his memories before he was twenty, and miss his nearly millennia long window with Miriam. ::edit:: Also, it's very likely Kai was unaware receiving his blood would reset a woman's cycle, so he was probably working under the assumption that Delilah wouldn't be able to get preggers for several hundred years.

My guess is it's a mix of both with some surprises we the readers haven't considered. Early on I had guessed that through secondary affinities and spells most of the harem could be bonded to most of the rest of the harem. That actually might take years (several decades of real time 😆)
