Also I love Kelsey's dedication to him already but it does leave me wondering why Rachael didn't feel anything especially when we know he was involved with her in the beginning also and even placed her into her last foster home. And there is no way unrecognizable doesn't have someone in the Incubus world as an ally, plus where's this queen wolf woman, she belongs with him even though she wants to be forgotten

2025-01-13 15:33:10 +0000 UTCMan another great chapter like always! But after reading the comments I cannot believe I'm the only one who feels like Kai has had a hand in Nicole's past. Especially considering the first thing she remembers, just like he used a mind spell on her like he did Gwen, just no one can remember. It also seems he's gained a few of her traits that even he mentioned, so maybe he rescued her, used her blood and helped push her into a place where she would be safe a lot like he did with Miriam. Also the more risk that's being created the more I feel like eventually him and alllll of his women will have to be at Miriam's or the other safe haven he's created in Cairo that he vaguely remembered creating, that might possibly like to Miriam's domain via that passage under her house. I'm interested in seeing where this all goes man I love this series! I hope one day to possibly be able to own the whole series on hardback instead of just online, kaizerwolf, hint hint lol

Rather than a stain of death, it would most accurately be described as a stain of evil (which Kai has directly stated at least once before). That's fundamentally why 'sincere' repentance works, and why he's not been permanently stained from doing acts of justice. That being said, there are situations where there is a risk of staining, even if it wasn't an evil killing (for example, killing an innocent, etc.). A large degree of how it works is inspired by the religious elements in the story.

Edit:: I have no troubles keeping track of the 20+ women by name that are involved only because I'm obsessed by IDH and I constantly reread it. I do however, occasionally have issues keeping them straight in how they relate to each other. Stuff like, who are all the blood affinity girls again? Have Gabriella and Gwen not had sex? Who has Tracy NOT met as yet? etc. etc.

The description of Hayes was also great, I’m imagining her almost like Mystic from X-Men with her blue skin. I definitely need to go back and reread or create a chart of who all the women are bc it’s getting hard to keep track by memory alone lol

2024-06-29 16:07:49 +0000 UTCI should have mentioned it a couple of chapters ago (especially since it doesn't seem relevant now), but Succubi and descendants of Succubi are repulsed by incubi and their descendants. Now maybe it's because of what they've done, or maybe it's sort of like an ancestral crime (or something like that), but wouldn't Reegan reject Joseph because of HIS aura? Although, given Kai's reaction to the 2 incubi that visited him, Joeseph may not have as much, if any, part of the repulsiveness that drives succubi away...

2024-06-24 19:17:36 +0000 UTCAs far as Nicole goes, she sounds more like a changeling than a traditional fae. In mythological lore, changelings were disappointing fae children left in the mortal world, usually with human parents. Sometimes as an exchange for a human child, and sometimes just abandoned and left to fend for themselves. She sounds very empathetic and sweet. I am looking forward to seeing her developed in the coming chapters. Kelsey also seems extremely sweet and romantic. She, unlike Nicole, is also a wide-eyed innocent. I almost expected Kelsey to start singing like a Disney princess about her handsome prince 😄😂 But seriously, I can see me also enjoying Kelsey as an individual as well.

2024-06-24 04:53:27 +0000 UTCI was also stoked to finally have 5 magical affinities confirmed! Fire, electricity are common and blood, although rare was also confirmed. I had assumed Gabriella and Michelle had the Light affinity from the start and the Life affinity had been implied as being possible as far back as some of the earliest chapters. The discussions about human sacrifice and life itself being the fuel for magic made it clear life was probably a type of magic. The Fire and electric affinities seem pretty straight forward. Blood seems to be creation or reality manipulation. Light is now confirmed to be illusion magic (and possibly divination?). Life is probably healing and enhancement magic. Being able to make someone faster, smarter, more perceptive or stronger seems reasonable. Also possibly necrotic (death energy) manipulation as well. Edit:: We just need confirmation for the ice affinity, which seems to be void magic, or anti-magic which would nullify or repel other magic.

2024-06-24 03:41:59 +0000 UTCWell, this WAS an awesome chapter, though I am weird and my reasons for loving it are probably different from almost everyone else. I loved the fleshing out of the fae. The different Nymph races each sound interesting and unique in their relationships to magic. I guess the next question is are the other types of fae, with nymphs being one of a race of fae, and slyphs, pixies, undine, etc. being sub races? In other universes nymphs and dryads are exclusively female who copulate with males of other species of fae (or human men) to reproduce. It sounds like you may be leading up to that here. Are banshees, kelpies, wisps, elves, djinn or Green Men also out there in the Kaiserverse waiting to be revealed as fae? Edit:: We know given given Jonadab's original reaction to Natalie as least one race of fae is immune to compulsion and Nicole definitely is not, given that she needs Mindstones implies that either at least one of the non-slyph nymphs are immune, or another entire race of fae is out there that is.

Also the description of Hayes was cool, I expected it to go elf like appearance but all her coloring appearing more vibrant like it you saturated your tv far too much. I'm interested to know why you chose to go with soul tainting or straining as the negative effect of killing as it's an interesting choice that gives sense to why he's not killing inconveniences but it's extremely limiting. Repenting removed it, yes, but if it's self defense or protecting someone does it still stain/taint?
