Also why did it have to be her when it could have been some random woman that's 1/16 succubus and why didn't he smell whatever she's mixed with? That part doesn't make much sense unless he only knows certain smells idk, but he should have blamed it on a new girl but we all know they would have wanted to meet her and then that puts her at risk...

And would it be claws like Gwen? And when did Gwen even have a halo that shattered? I'm only calling it a halo because that's what Kai considers it to be, maybe if Rachel needs it she can bring it back? Would love all this to be answered, just like will they all have wings and tails? And will he bond with the rest so no one is left out?

That's not the first time he's become a monster, and I guess him being unrecognizable is why they didn't even notice he changed, it was like their brain cannot even register what he can become. Sucks they ruined all the plan lol, but I sure would like to know what they're trying to accomplish? Is it just who tried to poison a whole group of them, and did that guy possibly recognize him? He had to have more allies, and I know you said no more to the harem, but the one that wants to be forgotten might be a good addition, I know you said she was above an alpha wolf... Could be interesting

Personally, it makes sense to me that Gabriella especially would register as full-blooded since she has the wings, tail and charm of a first gen succubus, even if she is far from fully trained. Rebecca less so, then of course everyone else. Also, it will be interesting to see if Matt and Ezra uncover proof that Delilah was 4 hours away with something like security camera footage, eyewitnesses, etc. as they pulled into Kai's place.

2024-06-23 01:07:14 +0000 UTCThe more I think about it, the more likely it is that Jonadab is responsible for the dinner meat curse. He obviously had a hatred and rivalry with Absolom. But he had never until the previous week (according to Joseph) ventured into Absolom's *territory* to mess with the wives of his sons in decades past. Yet on the Wednesday after the death of Absolom's eldest son Jonadab was stirring up trouble at Kai's place by abducting Claire and making a play for Rebecca. I get the impression that elite incubi like Absolom have huge 'kingdoms'. Like, Absolom controlled 1/3 of the USA or something like that. Wny was Jonadab in Absolom's neck of the woods literally days before the funeral unless it was a nefarious plot for the repast dinner?

2024-06-23 00:50:34 +0000 UTCYeah, Delilah is high on their suspect list (for good reasons, as you just pointed out), and more specifically, 'full-blooded succubi' are exceptionally rare. So far, the only two in the story are Miriam and Delilah. The fact that Raegan 'smells' full-blooded is suspect. Of course, Gabriella and Rebecca would also smell that strongly due to having received Kai's blood, but Raegan hasn't received Kai's blood. Kelsey also wouldn't smell that strongly (otherwise Kai would have noticed when he first met her). And both the maid and Annabella wouldn't smell that strongly (the big guy would have known it was 'the daughter of a succubus' who had been there otherwise, but instead firmly believed it was 'her' -- Delilah). From the perspective of this investigation team, having a 'real' succubus at Kai's house leads to only one possibility -- that Delilah was there. Because she is the only succubus they know about (and would be the only true succubus in the story, if not for Miriam). Perhaps I need to hint at all this more strongly, since it seems to have been missed by most.

But in fact, Kai has 5 other succubi in his harem (Miriam, Rebecca, Gabriella, Raegan and Kelsey) with 2 others in his orbit even if he hasn't met them yet (Miriam's blonde maid and Annabella).

Delilah has to be high on their suspect list, not only for all the reasons Matthew listed but she also 'conveniently' forgot to keep an opal on her which would allow her to cast the counter-curse. If not for Absolom's wife carrying one at all times Judah would have died, which makes Delilah look all the more guilty.

Kai and Ren's character development is better than most stories I have read. Some of the plot twists I did not see coming, such as the importance of Gwen to Kai. I do have to say my favorite character is Natalie. Her fighting spirit could not be broken when she was at her lowest and her desire to lead by example to protect Kai in spite of himself is an inspiration. She is the first of his women because she serves as the least.

2024-06-17 16:21:56 +0000 UTCIt's an investigation force for the entire group of Incubi, not just Absalom. Hence them referencing 'The Legion' a couple of times. In some ways, these guys are antagonists for Absalom, even though they are supposed to be on his side (but they also fear him and the others). Also, that is a good point, but Delilah doesn't have her own car to begin with. She has a driver, so tracking when she is or isn't in the car would be difficult, especially since she would take a taxi (or uber) to get someplace like Kai's house if she wanted to be discreet. Having access and reviewing such logs wouldn't necessarily prove anything to them. They would just assume she used a less easily tracked method to get to his house. (Succubi are rare, so to them, her scent is evidence enough that she was there.) Only something like her location data on her phone might help, but again, how do they know she doesn't have a second phone, or even that she left it behind (a 3000 year old individual, who went 99% of that time without a phone, would more easily be willing to leave a phone behind to avoid being tracked). Essentially meaning that 'having her location be at her place' wouldn't confirm anything for them. That being said, if you are having these thoughts, then I'm sure someone else will too. I can try to add this information in this chapter (concisely), so as to clarify why they wouldn't be able to verify her whereabouts.

2024-06-17 12:50:23 +0000 UTCAbsalom kept Delilah kind of 'out of sight' as much as possible, so them verifying her whereabouts would not be feasible. Even if they knew where she lived, if they showed up to her place and saw she was home, then they might just assume that she 'drove back home' and beat them there. However, they don't know where she lives, because that has been kept a secret, and so they would have no way of verifying her whereabouts. Of course, if they did some basic detective work, they might be able to stalk her home, but the fear of stepping on Absalom's toes has kept 'others' from doing it before. All that said, certainly there may be 'someone' who knows where she lives, but this group would have to contact that someone to find out where to go, and would still have no way to verify since Delilah isn't actively being spied on.

It would have been too easy for it to be proven that Delilah was 4 hours away so it was impossible that she was at Kai's house a few minutes ago. Explained away that some random woman was there a few minutes ago and getting it on. Kai wouldn't have been expected to smell her presence and problem solved. Kai had met Delilah at the wake, so he had associated with her.

Also, Kai is her alpha, so she would have submissive and protective tendencies toward him, while seeking protection from him, so it isn't completely an act.

If Matt and Ezra are full-blooded incubi, how did they hide their appearances without magical artifacts? Or, did they in fact have them, but they weren't visible like a ring would be?

Plus, the fact that her scent was going to reveal her as being unusual the second they saw her meant that ruse was going to fall apart quickly.

2024-06-16 18:23:22 +0000 UTCAs far as Gabriella and Serenity go, they are, apart from Michelle and Avery (by only hours), the two most senior bonds he has. The angelic bloodline might not mature as fast or might be very different, or perhaps since he's had more sex with Serenity and Gabriella they are further along in their physical modifications. Keep in mind, Avery and Michelle haven't even grown their wings yet, so Serenity is so much further along than they are despite both of them getting Kai's blood before her.

There seems to be a downtrodden caste of lesser incubi and supernatural slaves who have zero hopes of having their lives ever improving. Something like that could be exploited in the long term to destroy the current status quo and build a new organization using the dregs of the old.

Getting the vibe as Kai gains more power their transformation will progress. Natalie's shy was assassin level impressive. With Kai/Wrath being thousands of years old he would have servants and allies everywhere much like Roland controlling an entire city on his behalf.

Nat comes from some huge trauma and she is a survivor, her being able to transform is awesome but expected. 3. Someone at some point is going to mouth off at the wrong time and lose a head.

Maybe Abel doesn’t have a slave ring on but that’s not the only way to control someone. I can see Kai saving him from whatever’s binding him and bada-bing bada-boom yet another ally for Kai
