This story has arcs that last roughly 10 to 30 chapters. Some arcs are very heavily focused on plot, and other arcs are heavily focused more on slice-of-life stuff. I try to do an overall balance of going back and forth between the two, because while you are saying that you want less steamy stuff, others are saying they want more. It's impossible for me to make everyone happy.

Author Kaizer Wolf

Personally I find the constant sex to be a bit too much (a bit of flirting is fine). I like there to be at least a chapter or two without sex, since we're so long into the story. Not being bombarded with sex scenes also make the sex scenes feel more impactful, while progressing the plot faster. If it is integral that sex needs to happen as frequently as it does, perhaps one can skim over them a bit instead of going into details. That's just my two cents, take it or leave it :)

Noitcereon

Oh, and maybe Michelle should tag along to one of Kai's visits to Tracey's place? Not only would Claire love that, but it would be fun to see Tracey's reaction to seeing Michelle again.

Christopher Miller

As far as Serenity's "medical emergency", couldn't Miriam write her a fake doctor's note to give her several days off? Between her medical knowledge and swinging some money to make a fake letterhead/website or charm a doctor in an established practice. She could potentially give any of the extended family a believable excuse to avoid situations that leave them exposed.

Cool, just checking as I know that comments on the Internet can be taken in a way they weren't intended

No, I'm not upset. When I respond to comments, I am also keeping in mind the fact that others will read both what you said, and my explanation, so I wanted to be thorough to answer any potential questions (or clarifications) that you or others might have.

Author Kaizer Wolf

Thanks for the very thorough explanation and I didn't mean to cause any offence 😇. I hadn't picked up on the transformations of Miriam and Delilah changing their akin colour and the I believe I've misinterpreted the use of "tan" in the description, either due to my own interpretation or American / English use of phrases. I'm aware of a lot of the supporting cast being very diverse and, as you say, the diversity of transformed looks and supernatural races is extremely diverse. I was focused more on Kai's harem and had under-appreciated the Middle Eastern bloodline of Miriam and Delilah. You also have a much, much, better knowledge of the percentages of representation where the story is set and apologies, again, if it sounded like I was criticising the story for not having realistic representation and I did try to preempt my point with the fact I wasn't asking for tickbox representation as the characters need to fit into the setting you're imagining and you've been exceptionally well researched in explaining, thank you for taking the time to and I hope it was more for educating than because I pissed you off or anything.

I’ve made it pretty clear that Miriam, despite having red hair, is Middle Eastern. One of her primary features is that she has extremely tan skin, and I've made it very clear that she grew up 'Jewish' in terms of religion, though not necessarily an actual Jew ethnically (she is Middle Eastern). This also makes Rebecca and Gabriella Middle Eastern (hence they all have tan skin). Miriam’s red hair and green eyes are a result of her becoming a succubus. And it’s the same with Delilah. She has blue eyes and fair skin because of her succubus transformation, but was also Middle Eastern, which is why her hair is black (something that hasn’t been brought up is that most succubi obtained an ‘alluring’ feature, such as vivid eyes and/or hair color). Keep in mind that skin color has very little to do with diversity, as there are many Asians who are extremely pale (a lot of Japanese women are very pale). But that’s four women who are ‘diverse,’ out of 11 main women, which is 36% right there, and if you include the new women, then that’s still 25% of the women being diverse. Most of the women have lighter color skin because in the US, they make up 71% of the population. And yet, there are plenty of ‘diverse characters’ in this story. African Americans make up only about 13% of the population (about 1 out of 10). And there have been a lot of black characters. Nick, who was a very important character in the first 30 chapters, as well as his younger sister are both black. Nick’s dad was black. The security guards at the hospital were black. The female ‘chaplain’ at the hospital, who scolded the doctor after he yelled at Kai for saving Michelle, was black (a black ‘mama bear’ type of person). Just looking at overall characters, the composition of characters is about what you would expect to find in a major city, which is what I aim for -- realism. I'm not going to 'overrepresent' certain types of people when it isn't realistic to do so. And in this story, those who are Middle Eastern 'are' overrepresented a bit specifically because of the plot of the story (as in, it makes since, given the plot). The Arab population in the US is only about 0.5% (half a percentage point), and yet they make up a large portion of the characters due to it being realistic for the plot. Joseph, Kai’s father, Judah, Daniel, and all the other incubi are Middle Eastern. I've made that very clear in the story. Sarah and Emily, while not love interests, are both Native Americans. I’ve hinted at that with their very dark skin tones and dark hair. Micah Garcia, while not a love interest, is Latina. Alexandria, the female police officer who helped clean up after the werewolf attack, is Latina. And then you have characters like Gwen and Mrs. Hayes who are just straight-up not human at all. Gwen is actually very similar in complexion to an Egyptian, and as I mentioned before, skin color has very little to do with diversity (there are plenty of Egyptian women who have very fair skin). Never mind the fact that quite a few of the women have 'transformations' that involve totally different skin colors. I mean, if you want to talk about skin color, then Serenity's transformed skin is medium gray. Michelle's transformed skin is gray. Avery is extremely dark tan. Rosa turns straight-up 'Hispanic in the sun all summer' dark brown. Laura turns bright red (as an Oni), and her daughter Jamie turns basically maroon. So if you want diversity of skin color, there's a ton of it in the story. Specifically regarding Tracey, while the overall population is 13% black, the percentage of black nurses is only 11% (less than the average population), so the chances of her being black would be 1 in 10. Hence, very unlikely. The percentage of Hispanic nurses is about 8%, and the percentage of Asian nurses is about 8%, but even if Tracey had been Asian, she would be very likely to have pale skin (a lot of Asian cultures ‘idealize’ pale skin). But this means that Tracey had a 70% chance of being Caucasian (since 70% of nurses are Caucasian in the US), which makes perfect sense considering that about 71% of the US population is Caucasian, and even if she'd been Asian, she still is highly likely to have pale skin, making it about a 75% chance that she'd have pale skin overall. There are already a lot of diverse characters in this story, and I would agree that adding a specific type of 'diverse' love interest, just to tick a checkbox, would be silly. There are all kinds of diverse women both in this story, and in Combat Healer, in the form of nonhuman monster girl type characters. Neither story is lacking in diversity at all.

Author Kaizer Wolf

Oh, also, I've meant to raise this a couple of times. I'm not sure if there is a supernatural reason for Kai's selection of women being all white and I'm not a fan of specifically pushing diversity for the sake of variety, but with the number of women Kai has, it's very surprising not to have some other ethnicities. Part of it, so far, is understandable because of the family ties a lot of the time, but Tracey might have been a good opportunity to have someone of a different ethnicity as she has no links to anyone and I'm guessing that America has a very large non-white percentage of nurses. (Apologies if I've missed anyone in the harem so far)

Itsasecret

Lmao, yeah real life commitments even suck in stories!

Itsasecret

Yeah, having a job is kind of interfering with her being more involved in a lot of the fun.

Author Kaizer Wolf

Showing that amount of depth and development 'organically' was the goal! So glad it has come through that way!

Author Kaizer Wolf

BTW, Gabriella would have found that threesome as hot as fuck, to watch. Tracey feels like the most "human" / normal person that Kai has actually had sex with and probably the first person he actually seduced (even if accidentally).

Itsasecret

Following on from your response last chapter, it was a really good explanation as to why Nicole was so happy about Kai and Avery. I wonder if the tail is an additional change of some sort, not just the moon, but really looking forward to finding out what, plus finding out about the rest of the painting, in case there is something there that means more to Kai than to Claire. Part of me hopes Kai actually does get to play with Tracey's kink of being controlled and pushing her boundaries without a choice, although not sure the story has been space for that with so much going on!

Itsasecret

Plus, it's interesting to see what Claire's sexual niches are, the wet, messy sex and her being drawn to older, maternal women. That probably comes from her lack of acceptance and validation from her mother. It's all very 🔥!

Christopher Miller

The thing that stood out most for me is Claire's personal development. It was startling in it's scope and depth, but it feels organic because of what she's gone through in the last week. The trauma of Jonadab kidnapping her last Wednesday, having to keep that experience bottled up without a confidant, the stress of knowing she was in constant danger due her seer gift, being kicked out by her Mom, Trey's attack, her death and resurrection. She now knows just how much she was taking for granted and how much she now has and how much she has to be thankful for. She's showing a surprising amount of depth and development.

Christopher Miller

The thing that stood out the most was serenity and her tail. Now I am looking forward to what kind of twist you will throw in next chapter.

I don't know if it helps, but I added a 'font resizer' to the middle right of the page. It has two modes: Normal Font and Big Font.

Author Kaizer Wolf

Well it looks like it doesn’t work with my mobile browser. Sorted now!

Salvo

I’ve been reading all of these stories on mobile and it’s a lot worse for me on the website than it was on the Patreon client. The font is too small.
