Upon rereading it again it seems as if Astaer somehow knows by looking at Remi that she's a lot older than she appears. Like she has a physical feature that indicates she's far older than would otherwise be possible.

All of the women are sworn to trust him and, other than Lyla, are even fine with him being a monster, with Wren, etc. Knowing everyone's abilities and threats to everyone in the group are essential to identifying issues with not everyone is around and ensuring a good level of trust. I understand wanting to be quick (and to draw it out, as a storyteller), but everyone needs to know about the mother, about the eldritch that escaped from the King's advisor, what's happening with Eliza, Wren, Jasmine, how much his friend knows, etc.

2024-01-14 05:52:50 +0000 UTCI wish I could write faster, but it takes upwards of 20 to 40 hours just for one chapter (world-building, plotting, writing, editing, etc.). At least at this pace, I'm able to avoid burning myself out (for the most part).
