"Deep-seeded" isn't right. The correct expression is "deep-seated." https://www.merriam-webster.com/grammar/deep-seated-deep-seeded-usage#:~:text=What%20to%20Know,sometimes%20mistaken%20as%20deep%2Dseeded.

2024-03-17 15:42:01 +0000 UTCSomewhat disappointed the fight went this quick, but that's just gut feeling. Reality is a b*tch, and if you want to survive a fight, you better hit fast and end the fight quickly. Wondering how Claire is gonna deal with everything... Went from I know nothing to a huge shitload of traumatizing events in about something like 7 hours. That's a lot to take...

2024-03-05 20:08:23 +0000 UTCOne of the best chapters we've had in a while. Excellent build-up to the action, and thought the "drop" scene was very erotic. Counting on some great future with Claire. Using erotic aspects that are not directly sex to capture the reader's attention brings tremendous depth to the writing.

2024-02-12 18:29:04 +0000 UTCI keep thinking of the title of this story. And I keep coming back to the same conclusion. Kai has to be an angel. At least part angel. The title is innocent devil Harem.

2024-01-13 22:08:27 +0000 UTCI thought that after Kai remembered his old life he would also remember his wisdom. And become more cautious. I think he will have a better time turning women because of his father's bloodline.

2024-01-13 22:02:58 +0000 UTCI hope his brother Jacob doesn't fail. Or become corrupt. Great chapter though. Kai killing Dante so easily made me think he was still alive somehow. Maybe burn his body. He might be able to regenerate. And Claire's devotion wasn't surprising since after she got done crying her energy and mindset changed.

2024-01-13 21:57:18 +0000 UTCI understand your thinking regarding Dante and him being corrupted by his perception of superiority. However, I am disappointed at the loss of his character. Somehow I feel as if Kai should be able to "absorb" some of Dante's power or abilities.

2024-01-13 06:26:20 +0000 UTCI think if Kai was watching over Dante it would've become a pretty short story given Dantes experience and Kai's naivete.

2024-01-08 19:47:14 +0000 UTCAnime must seriously piss you off since they usually avoid bodies to save the extra draw work.

2024-01-08 16:25:14 +0000 UTCFor me I wouldn't say it's a pet peeve or at least it wasn't until you pointed it out lol. I think that kind of death would only work with energy based entities, and I agree that it doesn't make sense for that to happen to vampires, but I figure it was just a device made so it can be aired on TV shows without needing an R rating and helps awkward authority issues with the "no body no crime" excuse. I'm looking forward to the next chapter, though always love a CH drop so I'm not gonna compatible lol.

2024-01-08 16:24:01 +0000 UTCI try to keep the story as realistic as possible, and I think the idea of 'anything' disintegrating upon death is a bit unbelievable (unless a spell was used). Whenever I see a show or anime where the monsters disintegrate, it's kind of a pet peeve of mine, because it just doesn't make sense (even when they make an effort to give a valid reason why). As to the state of Dante potentially being 'not dead' we will cover that in the next chapter, although I'll probably be posting Combat Healer this next weekend.

2024-01-08 16:10:27 +0000 UTCGreat chapter, little bit of a shame that Dante didn't last long but the rationale was solid. I'm assuming Dante is truly dead though we don't yet know a vampire lord's recovery capabilities. Using Dantes body to test Roland is a great idea. I want sure if a vampire would disintegrate when dead but I don't recall if that had been covered until now. I want expecting Kai to be able to hold onto Dantes arm with his halo (I might be misrememberng), I was expecting the halo to just slice through anything instead of only slicing unheeded when the user wants it to, in this case though it was used well, similar to a karambit, though I'dlike to know how the halo damages victims since the description didn't mention that Dantes body even tried to start to regenerate. Looking forward to the next chapter : )

2024-01-08 16:05:17 +0000 UTCYeah, Claire's situation played a fairly pivotal role in Dante becoming a side-concern. However, to be honest, if one of the women had been watching over Dante, this situation would not have been without hostages and/or casualties. For example, if it had been Gwen watching over him? She would be dead. And it would have happened so fast, that Kai would just suddenly notice that he wasn't bonded with Gwen anymore. If it was Rosa, she probably would have been injured severely, with Dante knowing full well that as long as he didn't kill her, she would be able to recover (but we are talking arms and legs ripped off, or worse). And if it was Kai watching over him, it's even possible that the 'surprise element' might have resulted in Dante winning (realistically, I'm sure Kai would have found a way to survive, but it's somewhat difficult to truly communicate the THREAT Dante posed, without showing just how quickly Kai's women would have died under different circumstances).

2024-01-08 16:01:47 +0000 UTCI'll just go ahead and say that Roland and Eve have been faithful since Day 1, and that the fact that they have obeyed Kai even when he was at his 'weakest' will go a long way to support the extent of their faithfulness and loyalty.

2024-01-08 15:56:45 +0000 UTCAlso the drive for Dante was love for a girl, makes sense that he would get hooked on a succubi.
Moi465
2024-01-08 15:52:25 +0000 UTCWell, there's other factors in that exchange as well. Dante pretending to become subdued and reaching out his hand is a very calculated move. Dante needed surprise since he didn't truly know the scope of Kais power (though he had a glimpse before during the werewolf battle and before then), he didn't know if he was essentially sired to Kai in some way due to the blood, so he couldn't risk being commanded. Dante couldn't risk missing Kai with his one shot spell so feigning civility and going in close makes sense. I don't believe Dante knew Kai could read auras so he had no reason to believe his deception would be obvious and I don't think he knew of the halo weapon either. Finally, Dante knew that some of the others when they transformed and were left for a while before coming to their senses so it was a pretty solid bluff.

2024-01-08 15:47:54 +0000 UTCMakes sense for the Dante character that if he became hierarchically higher he would want to establish that position assuming he saw Kai as the pinnacle. I think without the Miriam element the change wouldn't make sense though, but adding Miriam as the driver really made the twist possible, and fed nicely into the vampire theme of hunger, greed and domination.
Moi465
2024-01-08 15:38:40 +0000 UTCI agree, it was a shame. Dante couldn't have been a bigger bad guy, I guess since we haven't covered the survival capabilities of a vampire lord maybe he could still survive though I doubt it at this point. He could've been used as a good plot driver to discover other elements of the story out there, but this was great to read also.
Moi465
2024-01-08 15:32:33 +0000 UTCI think the reasons why Dante was treated differently was because he was between barriers, he was also male so I think that also played a role and also Claire's situation was a distracting priority.

2024-01-08 15:26:26 +0000 UTCTwo matters. Quite early in this story (can’t remember where) Kai reflected that he would have to careful as to who he shared his blood with. I thought he was being generous but could see why he tried it on Dante. Secondly having given Dante his blood he sort of left him to it whereas previously there has always been someone watching over the person receiving blood. Just observations!

2024-01-07 17:31:01 +0000 UTCI think you hit it right Kaizer. A) It was bound to happen eventually that someone would react differently to Kai’s blood. Not everyone has pure intent deep in their soul. But more so B) you see this at times when people get promoted at work. Their demeanor changes and it’s said that they “ changed” but really what happened is that their place in the power dynamic has changed and they feel that they are right to treat you as inferior. So, to your point, Dante felt justified or entitled to claim an inferiors ( Kai’s) possessions that he coveted.

2024-01-07 16:37:24 +0000 UTCits a twist, and while I do feel like Dante would have been an awesome ally, twists do add spice, but to loose Roland and his daughter, that would be, sad. Especially since they did keep the faith.

2024-01-07 13:05:37 +0000 UTCPower can corrupt. It's been said several times in this story, and this is finally showing how it can happen (and how quickly it can happen). Succubi are also addicting. That's also been said, and shown, several times in this story, and this is revealing just how addicting they can be (and how subtle it can appear). What happened is obviously surprisingly, even to Kai, but shouldn't be too shocking with some deeper thought. Dante is a hardened warrior/assassin, who lived by a code of honor that was heavily influenced by hierarchy. Meaning, he could refer to someone who is more powerful than him as 'lord' as an acknowledgement of their superiority. But Dante would never call someone inferior to him 'lord.' So what happens when Dante becomes superior? (At least in his perception?) If he believes Kai now to be inferior to him, then that changes things by a lot, even if Dante owes his newfound power to Kai.
Author Kaizer Wolf
2024-01-07 05:25:24 +0000 UTCThat is a big part of it, the fact that things have been almost 'too smoothly' recently (things working too well in Kai's favor). But also, when I create these characters, they sort of take on a life of their own, and react in ways I may not have anticipated, as odd as that probably sounds. With Dante, I was not anticipating how he would react to this kind of power until it was too late (and of course, Kai wouldn't have known either). That's not to say that other guys, such as Joseph and Roland can't be trusted, but Dante is very much a hardened warrior/assassin who only had a soft spot for Rosa because she reminded him of his daughter. And while he does have a sort of code of honor, it's partially based on a hierarchy. As in, he can refer to Kai as 'lord' as an acknowledgement of his superiority, but wouldn't go around calling someone inferior to him 'lord.' So what happens when Dante becomes superior? This.

2024-01-07 05:17:54 +0000 UTCI liked this chapter because it showed Kai that there are consequences to giving his. Ooof out to not just him but to everyone he cares about and will have him think harder and more tactfully about who he gives blood to in the future.

2024-01-07 04:40:49 +0000 UTCThe fight going in Kai's favor makes absolute sense, it doesn't matter how fast you push the button to launch the nuke if it takes forever to launch, and regardless of how fast he can get his hand into place, the disintegration magic has that verbal component that gives it a somewhat fixed delay. This should absolutely be someone that someone points out in story as the reason Kai won and the only reason the speed advantage was nullified.

2024-01-07 03:42:32 +0000 UTCI think it is much like Kai thought, he had a strong sense of honor, but when he felt overwhelming power in himself, decided to just take everything away from the person he saw as being powerful and having a great many things that most men would want. It is a way to show that even honorable people can't be trusted blindly, leading to some additional tension. Something this chapter doesn't bring up directly for example, can Kai trust his brother still, or is this a sign that his brother might be subtly manipulating him by playing his already existing role as the weak link in the family. Or is he just going to be the guy that sits in the corner waiting for the lesbians he likes to toss him a bone like he already was? We now have a number of interesting questions to ponder while we wait.

2024-01-07 03:40:06 +0000 UTCHonestly, I'm a bit disappointed. Why bother bringing Dante back just to kill him off? I think there could have been so much more. Not to mention, I liked the guy. And I'm still trying to figure out how and why he would be so addicted to Miriam. But I'm glad Claire passed the test. Maybe that changes Gwen's opinion of her. Although from the way it read earlier, Claire has always been just as loyal to Kai as Avery.
