amazing video as always. Ive always seen RGU and its under line themes about ... transness in general and the horrible ways straight cis men mostly,, use sex and gender to claim power, despite already having it. claiming they need trans people, women, lesbians, to fork over their power and rights or were getting special treatment. the moment of the door not opening, i view as a moment that the power didnt work because Utena was not a girl. but i know this is my own personal view on this based on my own life - and horrible encounters with /corrective / ... force. watching utena was one of the first kinda normal things i had after that so i vomited my identity all over it. ive avoided re-watching because in my mind its always been so tied to freeing my self from one of the worst moments of my life.
