2023-02-27 00:24:45 +0000 UTCIt is very true that there has not been a children's/ YA literature of HP's scale and impact ever since. I think that this sort of thing cannot be done intentionally just from the author's side, that the idea has to fill in a gap in the market, and meet with big money ready to capitalize on it. I've read many books as a kid which influenced me severly but never got turned into movie series (or perhaps they have, later on; I stopped paying attention.) My favorites included Jonatan Stroud's Bartimaeus Sequence and Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer. And many older epic fantasy series which had possibly already missed their chance on an adaptation. I also started watching anime and reading manga when I was 16 because I felt like the western media had nothing left to offer...
