The Queer Erasure of Asexuality (A Discussion)

Comments

Asexually may not be so much a choice than perhaps a response to childhood trauma. I grew up in a fucked up family that taught me that sex was dirty. My parents never displayed any affection towards each other. Sex was a taboo subject, consequently I had a lot of anxiety about sex which became worse when I realized that I was gay. A couple of visits to Bellevue, meds, alcohol, ECT sessions and years of psychotherapy and I’ve come to accept myself, however, sex, specifically gay penetrative sex is more trouble than it’s worth. But that’s not to say I’m asexual. As a consequence of being bullied by my peers at school and beaten by my mother at home I’ve acquired something called skin hunger. A craving to be touched, caressed, hugged, by another man. This culminates sexually as frottage or frot. I believe, in our culture, males are deprived of physical contact with other males. It’s only acceptable in certain circumstances, like sports. Female’s , on the other hand, don’t seem to suffer this deprivation. Consequently I believe skin hunger is much more prevalent in men (gay and straight) in our society. If Being gay was a perversion when I was growing up then frottage was and still is categorized as a fetish as opposed to the only legitimate sex: fucking. Fucking . Where there is the role of top and bottom, butch and fem, active and passive. Frot is egalitarian. We have sensual love making, no selfishness, no fuss no muss and it’s every bit as fulfilling and as satisfying and legitimate as the good old fashioned fuck!

This is an excellent topic, and I really like what you're going for, but I must confess that I'm really struggling with this format, for the same reason that I don't listen to podcasts: I have a really hard time following unscripted content at all, due to speech processing issues, and it's significantly harder when it's conversational unscripted content. I'm sorry :( I tried numerous times with this one, and just couldn't follow for more than a few minutes at a time. I know your usual tightly-edited and well-scripted videos take a LOT more work, but I really hope you'll keep doing them in parallel to podcast-type stuff <3
