I'd love to hear your thoughts on the SyFy show The Magicians. It is pretty easily my favorite show, and I recently started rewatching it through a queer theory lens. The show, on its face, is very gay, but I didn't realize how deep you can draw certain analogies until now. Best!

Is Anime something you watch normally?

I second this. It's one of the first films (along with Make the Yuletide Gay) that made me happier. I continue to love Dean as one of the most interesting examples of a straight man we've had in queer cinema.

I was wondering if you had a fact checker or consultant for the anime/anime fandom content that you've been doing recently? For example, In the latest video you said that there wasnt as large of a fandom for shipping YOI as there was for SK8. That may currently be true but the fandom of YOI shippers were the first ones to get offical fandom shipping merch into stores like Hot Topic. Subtle and small items about being a Katsu bowl which were (to my knowledge) only able to be read as romantic by those within the shipping community - but that was still back in 2016. Or for the fact that the nonbinary line is ENG dub exclusive - Japanese in fact has no gendered pronouns in how to you refer to others after all - to the point that it was, I believe, the VA that improvised in the booth and that that's how the line got into the show. The omission of the fact that m/m shipping in Japan has always been so prominent - and female dominated - that manga authors and illustrators can have a breakout into main stream publishing due to their Doujinshi work back before even webcomics existed to the existent that they currently do. They use to have their own conventions for self published doujinshi. CLAMP is the first to come to mind but I know that they're far from the only ones. I'm asking because the details dont really change the points being made - so I was just wondering if details like these were glossed over or if they were completely unknown?
