"The Pink Triangles" without age restriction

Hey there everyone.

It was recently brought to my attention that YouTube has set my video about gay holocaust victims to 18+. So a lot of people can't view it. I appealed it, but the appeal was denied.

(Can only imagine what kind of fury the algorithm will bring down on me for that).

Anyway, I uploaded it to Vimeo to make it available to everyone. I don't think I have any Patrons who are under 18, but it's you guys who let me thumb my nose at YouTube every once and a while so I thought it only right I share the link here. Not exactly the kind of thing I imagine most people want to watch more than once, but here's the link anyway lol.  :)

I have not saw this piece on youtube. Now i have yet another thing to sleep worse at night. I am a gay guy from russia, and know way too much abouthe persecution. Thank you for not falling into the rainbow capitalism agenda.

I grew up knowing that gay men had been one of the many groups targeted by the Nazis. What got me sobbing was how they were treated afterwards. Inflicted with wounds that could never heal, only be - forced to be - hidden. Edit: And wow. Just realized this video is over a year old. I've been watching James's videos at least that long and even the back catalog is recommended regularly on YT. Only found out about it through James mentioning it in a discussion about his Patreon. Sheesh.

Thanks for doing this! I'm in my 30s but don't really want to give YouTube my credit card for age verification, so I've kind of just given up on watching anything marked 18+

I can't even begin to describe how hard I cried during this video. As a disabled queer person with Jewish family members, I felt this video particularly strongly. Looking back on my education growing up, I can't remember a single word being mentioned about gay people being targeted during and after the Nazi regime. And I'd say I had a more extensive education on the Holocaust than most young people did. My teacher was Jewish and really made sure we felt the horrors of what happened then and knew what lead to it starting. I'm absolutely certain that he was pressured to leave out the targeting of queer people in lessons by either school administration or parents. I grew up in a heavily religious, homophobic, and overall bigoted community. I wouldn't be surprised if the people who guided my education had seen gay people's plight as not worth mentioning or gays as being "understandably targeted". It's beyond shameful. I'll definitely be referring a lot of people to this video.

It's definitely worth a rewatch πŸ™

Omg thank you so much! I can't get YouTube to recognize that I am ancient swamp hag despite the fact that they most DEFINITELY know my birthday! It's the only one of your amazing videos I haven't seen. I'm so excited!

Awesome! I’ve actually shared this video with quite a few people, so I’ll be sure to share the new link. It’s valuable info, so I like that you made it available to as broad an audience as possible. Thank you!
