Hi Patrons! Last week was short but productive.

Episode 25

I'm applying slowly but surely my new digital painting workflow to the comic pages. It's a long episode ( long for the Pepper&Carrot format, 10 pages ) and it respects the tradition of being totally muted and without speechbubble. (similar tradition on ep05, 10, 15 and 20). So, right now I'm working on all the pages to reach a "colored sketch" status. An extra pass of painting will correct everything later. I'll keep working all the month on episode 25.

New resolution for comic pages : the 4K era

For the previous hundreds of pages on Pepper&Carrot, I used a resolution of 2481 pixel x 3503 pixels. After a couple of test, I saw I could increase the resolution by 20% to 2975 pixels x 4200 pixels without a too big impact on the performance of my computer. This benefit is a side effect possible thanks to the optimization of Krita 4.x performances. 

Hardware review in progress : Purism Librem13

I started to write a review about my laptop: the Purism Librem13. I'll release this review next week on my blog. I have the laptop since October 2017 and I preferred to take my time to accumulate more experience with the hardware in detail (I took it for my course in Paris, conference in India, in Switzerland and recently in Poland... I tested also three distro so far on it: PureOS, Fedora GNOME and Ubuntu 17.10 on it). So, is this laptop a good one for digital painting on GNU/Linux ? That will be my topic for this article :-)

New translations and corrections were merged from Esperanto, Low German, Gallo and Korean.

Community

Thanks to the contribution of Dezponia, our Matrix room (bridged with the official IRC channel) received maintenance and has now a pretty header.  Matrix is an open protocol for real-time rich communication (video/voice/image preview in chat/logs/etc...) and a lot of client exists already for it on many platforms (Riot webapp on the screenshot). 77 user are following the daily discussions on it.
