Hi from Switzerland where I was at Japan-Impact for the week-end to give two lectures and a signing session (photo). One lecture was a presentation of Pepper&Carrot and the other one was about the impact of anime brodcasted on French public TV during the 80's and how it affected my art style. It was very interesting to write this presentation and share it. If you want to know more about this topic , read the very well made paragraph about the 'French exception' on the Wikipedia article Manga outside Japan. One slide of my presentation was about the anime I prefered when I was a kid:

Do you know some of them ?

This convention was a good event: many cosplay,s a large audience, many booths and interesting talks. I'm back to France tomorrow morning and my main plan for this new week is to continue working on episode 25. I'll show you progress next week.

Thanks for your support!

Yes there was quite a bit of censorship on the tv series. The manga was quite explicit if I remember correctly. That was a while ago. Hope you are doing well.

Oh, nice! You worked on Manga publishing/distribution? I'm curious to read Ranma 1/2 as a Manga ; the french version on TV were known to have strong censorship and heavy changes to adapt it for kids ; also I really like the drawing style of Rumiko Takahashi. (Urusei Yatsura was also broadcasted in my childhood)

Same; I only read the Manga printed version when I was getting older. Most of them were printed in France only after 2000. "City Hunter" by Tsukasa Hojo was very cool to read, because the Manga had another tone than the anime (the anime in France in the 80s was censored, and doubling of voice were caricature of characters on purpose to make it more funny).

I know most of them also mainly through the anime, but I did read the Ranma 1/2 manga when I worked for a company that distributed it. It was really good if I remember correctly.

I know them all although only throught anime :)
